2015.

Thursday 31 December 2015

2015 was been a hell of a year. It's had ups, and more downs that I would care to remember, and there are loved ones who aren't here to see in the new year that I wish more than anything were here. I thought I'd do a little summary of some of the good bits of 2015, those moments I want to remember and celebrate.

I went to Tattoo Tea Party and got tattooed by Keely Rutherford. It was a really great event with some incredible artists, and it was fun to get tattooed in a totally different environment and see how I dealt with it. Plus, True Romance inspired moth!

I surprised Stu with a tattoo by Lawrence Canham for his 40th birthday. He was so excited, and Lawrence totally blew us both away with his work. It was so fun being able to surprise Stu!

I went to a Scarlett & Jo meet up in Sheffield hosted by Georgina Grogan. It was the first time I had met any other plus size bloggers, and it was so lovely to finally get to!

Festivals! Stu and I went to 2 fake festivals this summer, Boltfest and Feswich, and had such an awesome time. It is always good to get away from home with the one you love and adventure. These are both actually free festivals and so so good for free!

I got Botox! I vlogged and blogged about it, but the short version is this - I have had serious chronic headaches and migraines for the last 6 years that have left me in pain everyday, in and out of hospital, and generally limited in what I could do. Botox has given me my life back and allows me to live a pretty normal life which is something I truly believed was only a dream for me. I love the NHS!

I went to London and met Steph from Nerd About Town. Ever meet someone and feel like you've known them forever and just totally adore them right away? Yeah, that happened. What an absolute babe.

I got my tattoos turned into a lower leg sleeve by Keely Rutherford! I have one more session to go before it is finished, but I love my leg soooooo much. Isn't it the prettiest?!

I went to the Curve Fashion Festival and met more amazing ladies than I could ever have dreamed of! To be surrounded by so many incredible and inspiring people was just brilliant, and I met people I just know I will be friends with for the longest time.

I did a whole ton of photoshoots but I'm going to feature my favourite photos of the year in a seperate blog post.

These are my top instagram photos of 2015! This was so fun to see. It's totally different from last year's top photos on my instagram which was all my photography of models instead.

And finally, but so so importantly, Sinbad joined our furbaby family! Every day all my fur children just totally blow me away with their love. I feel so honoured to be their Momma! Sinbad has been through such a trauma with getting shot in the eye, a new home, and losing his eye, and he is still the sweetest and loveliest little handsome man. He follows me around all the time and sleeps on my back. MY HEART <3 He makes me have all the feels. All of them!

What were your 2015 highlights? What gave you all the fuzzies?
Much love,
Kitty xxxx

I snagged myself some bargains in the Asda George sale!

Boxing Day OOTD

Sunday 27 December 2015

I hope you guys all had such an amazing Christmas! Stu and I spent the day at my Mum's house where most of my family joined us, and then Stu's kids came over in the evening. It was so much fun, and so wonderful to be with everyone, and everyone was spoilt rotten! Boxing Day is spent at Stu's Mum's house, so it's the perfect time to break out a brand new outfit.

Dress - ASOS Curve
Jacket - New Look
Bag - unknown
Leggings - ASOS Curve
Boots- Yours Clothing

It was so windy! My hair and jacket was blowing all over the place. I absolutely love this fringed jacket, I feel like Dolly Parton in it. It's so fabulous! I'm a massive Dolly fan so this is perfect for me. My Nanny bought me both the dress and the jacket, my Mum bought me the bag, boots and leggings. You can't see it in this photo, but the leggings have triangle mesh sections and silver studs on the side.

Makeup is all from Makeup Revolution.

I went for a bronze smokey eye and a subtle lip colour, the eyeshadow did not budge all day which is so impressive given how much I cried with laughter!

And finally, I have to show you this clutch bag. My Mum got me this for Christmas, I have no idea where from, it is so cool. I love the sparkle to the front and the faux snake skin backing. It's a really good size to fit everything you need in.

I hope you had the most amazing Christmas!

Much love,

Dee Dixon Photoshoot II

Tuesday 22 December 2015

For the second time this year, I worked with the gorgeous Dee Dixon. We had great fun the first time and got on really well, so when Dee let me know she was coming down my way again I leapt at the chance to work with her again. Last time she had blonde hair and rocked it straight, this time I was super excited to see her new blue and purple hair! All of our photoshoots are for Zivity, so check it out for the full sets.

In the winter I can never resist shooting sets with blue tones to them. I love a glamorous icy queen. With blue eyes, blue hair, a blue bed, this was perfect for a blue toned set.

This was actually the first set we shot, I wanted it to feel really retro and eighties with the bright colours. The pink lipstick, bright yellows, it's not the sort of bright I usually shoot but I love it!

Dee wanted to shoot some floortraits. Portraits on the floor... yeah I know. I'm terrible. I was more than happy to oblige! This Transformers leotard was perfect for these casual rolling around type photos.

These are just lit with two soft boxes from above, I really love how the light worked out. Dee has the prettiest pale skin.

I always love shooting on this bed set up, and this pink harness style lingerie was perfect for it. The mixture of pinks, with the flash of blue hair is perfect.

I can never resist a bath set! I mentioned shooting in the bath, and Dee brought along this mint bikini which was ideal. Her hair turned the water a lilac colour and she looked like a gorgeous pastel mermaid.

Those eyes. What a babe!

Post-bath, a slick haired fashion set was in order. The bra top is from Malice who I love, and the shiny skirt begged for the blue tones.

I love shooting with Dee, and hopefully we will again in the new year.

Much love,
Kitty

A Christmas Dress

Sunday 20 December 2015

When my Mum rocked up to the office we work in in a swing Christmas dress, I knew I had to have one! I love a Christmas jumper, but a dress is something else. After some hunting, I found that there are a whole bunch of sellers on Ebay selling different sizes, as well as plus size shops that are selling up to a size 32. We got ours from Ebay in the end as it proved the cheapest.

Aren't we adorable? And yes... that is our actual height difference! My Mum is 5ft 4 and a bit, I'm 5ft 11. My dress was rather a lot shorter than hers, and for some reason the sleeves are different too. But for £6, who could complain?

I bought another dress from the same seller, a tartan print with santa faces on it. I'm not sharing the Ebay seller as they were quite obtuse to deal with and sent the dresses out much later than they said they had, but at least they arrived before Christmas so we could wear them.

The big thing I was impressed with was the length of the sleeves, they were actually long enough for me! Now that is a rarity. Usually I end up pulling long sleeves up to my elbows as they sit at an awkward length, but I could actually leave them be on this dress.

I paired the dress with a star tinsel headband from Crown & Glory, green eyeshadow and red lippy, for a super Christmassy look!

Have you picked up any Christmas jumpers or dresses? There is some really cute stuff out this year.

Much love,
Kitty xxxx

A Christmassy OOTD

Tuesday 15 December 2015

Christmas and winter always make me lust after velvet. I absolutely love how it looks and feels, and I think it adds instant class to any outfit. When Sam of FattyBoomTatty posted about this velvet dress, I just had to order it for myself.

Dress - Everything5Pounds Velveteen Mini Dress
Leggings - ASOS Curve
Boots - Demonia
Necklace - Sugar & Vice

We went to a Christmas market, so I thought that was the perfect time to give this dress a run out. I bought it in both black and red as I figured it was worth the risk at £5 each. I had ordered lingerie from Everything5Pounds.com previously and was not impressed. They sent completely the wrong sizes with the labels cut out, they were absolutely tiny and clearly wrong. But this was at least 5 years ago so I wanted to give them another go and was pleasantly surprised!

I'm 5ft 11 so I was worried about the length with it being a mini dress, but it is actually perfect. It covers my butt well, and is so cute. I paired it with some bright leggings so I wasn't in all black and some of my calf length boots. Ashen wanted to get in on the mirror selfies and roll around a bit, who am I to deny him!

And have a selfie of me in front of my Mum's Christmas tree. Not the best selfie, but it's hard to selfie with a dog begging for luffs! I'm really glad I bought this dress in both colours, it was out of stock for a while but came back in recently. The thing with Everything5Pounds.com is that their stock is limited, but they get ex-stock from other big brands. I've seen the Nadia Abhoulosn Missguided pieces on it, as well as ex-ASOS Curve, so it's worth keeping an eye on!

I also wore these Sock Shop Nourishing Heel* socks. I have incredibly dry heels, when I'm walking around for a good length of time they tend to split which is just so painful, so I was intrigued to try these out! I got them in the men's size 6-11 and they fit really well. They feel unusual to wear to begin with, because the heel section of the socks has a nourishing pad built into it to help dry heels. I wasn't sure how they would work, but honestly? My feet feel amazing after one day of wearing these! Normally they would feel really tired or have split, but instead they feel soft and comfortable. I'm seriously impressed! I'd never heard of anything like these, but would really recommend them. I need to get my hands on a lot more pairs. They are £8.99 which is pricier than a normal pair of socks, but if you suffer like I did, it's well worth it.

Have you snagged any bargains from any other not so well known websites that sell plus sizes? Let me know!

Much love,
Kitty

Christmas at the Morris-Wood Household

Sunday 13 December 2015

Last year Stu and I decided that we were going to get a real Christmas tree. It would be the first time both of us had a real Christmas tree since we were kids. There is something about the smell of them, it truly feels like Christmas, and they just look so much better than a fake tree. We buy them from a local farmer whose son I went to school with, and then I decorate! And I do mean I. I get a little.... determined that the tree will be just right, and I like certain things, and for things to be evenly spaced. So Stu leaves me to it!

For the second year in a row, we have an ever so slightly wonky tree. The top of them always just seems to droop a bit. It adds character, I don't mind! This is a 6ft tree, I'm basically the same height as it so it's easy.

I have a thing about tinsel, so we have a totally tinsel free tree. I just think it's kinda... tacky and creepy? I've never liked it for some reason, so no tinsel, red berry lights, and lots and lots of baubles. As last year was our first real tree, I bought a whole load more decorations this year to really make sure it was full up.

I couldn't resist this glass burger bauble, Asda has some seriously kick ass decorations this year and I ended up paying them a visit twice over after seeing some of the baubles on social media.

A glittery tiger bauble was far too cute to resist.

A robot! He's so damn adorable. Super retro and fun.

Last year Sugar & Vice offered incredible laser cut baubles as part of their Christmas range. They haven't got them for sale this year, but I know they take custom orders all year round so it'd be worth dropping them a message! True Romance is a shared love of mine and Stu's, so this was an easy choice.

My beloved Rokki. My families cat Rokki passed away this year. He loved Christmas, so it seemed fitting to have him be a part of our Christmas tree. I surprised my Mum and brother with one of these each too for their own trees. I miss that furry little man.

A freaking dinosaur wearing a wreath. Another Asda special! Who wouldn't want a dinosaur on their tree?

An anatomical heart from Sugar & Vice.

This is from Sainsbury's, it reminded me of dragon scales, a bauble fit for a Khaleesi.

Butterflies are incredibly special to me, so our tree always has butterflies on it. These are sort of, opalescent and so pretty, I got a few of these from The Range.

One from last year, there are stags and owls all over our tree. I love a stag motif.

Oh yes, another Asda special, fries!

From The Range, I absolutely loved these and got 3.

Look at this owl's grumpy little eyebrows! Stu loves owls, so I had to get him. Also from Sainsbury's.

Another Sugar & Vice piece, everything not-so-secret-goth needs skulls on their tree.

Asda once again killing it with a flamingo in a wreath.

And finally, sorry Mum, from Sugar & Vice.

This is why I have the red lights, I look how slightly spooky but super pretty everything looks lit only by red. I like our tree to be kinda classy, but I couldn't resist the Asda baubles this year. I like our tree to be full of stuff we love, so owls, stags, butterflies and Rokki.

What decorations have you gotten this year? I know Asda had a whole load of other glass baubles including dogs, I just couldn't justify them all!

Much love,
Kitty xxxxx

Much love,
Kitty xxxxx
