Funky Laser Halloween Spider Web Tiara Review

Tuesday, 20 October 2015

I recently discovered Funky Laser on twitter and got in touch with them, to discover they knew who I was and wanted to work with me too, brill! They decided they wanted to send me a little something from their Halloween collection, and with my love of Halloween I was so up for that!

They sent me the Halloween Spider Web Tiara* £8+. That this is only £8 is completely baffling to me! The price goes up slightly depending on the acrylic you pick, but in the black is is £8. The level of detail is amazing, and it is such an unusual idea.

It is so intricate. I love the curls and flicks on the cobwebs. It is affixed to a metal headband by 3 rings which are very secure. I have quite a large head so was a little worried about it fitting me, but it did no problem!

I plan on wearing this all year round. It's a really unique piece and definitely fits with my slightly goth aesthetic.

Funky Laser have a few different hair accessories for Halloween, including a pumpkin headband and a ghostly scene, but this spiderweb one is my favourite,

Be sure to check out the rest of their store, they have wedding cake toppers too which is really different.

Much love,
Kitty xxx

Panika

Thursday, 23 July 2015

I recently discovered the incredible Panika on Etsy, and couldn't resist ordering myself a little something. They describe themselves as making jewellery for fairies and witches, and I can totally see that.

I ordered myself the green and yellow holographic jellyfish necklace. It was on sale at the time and usually retails for around £23 depending on the current exchange rate as they are based in Ukraine.

Seriously, how could I resist ordering this!

The detail is beautiful, the colours amazing. And the holographic tint is such a unique look, I haven't seen it before. The chain is also green which is really cute. It's such a good size, a real statement piece.

I wore it the day after I got it, how could I resist!

I wish I had been able to afford more from Panika. They have so much gorgeous stuff in their shop.

Much love,
Kitty xxxx

The Last Sugar & Vice Subscription Box

Friday, 27 March 2015

This month was the last ever Sugar & Vice subscription box for their Afternoon Tea collection. I am both super sad that it is the last one, but also totally understanding because it must be such a huge undertaking for just 2 people to do!

As ever, the box is arrives is stunning. The teal print is a lovely touch.

And upon opening, not only is there Sugar & Vice branded rock, but a tea and a candy necklace too. I love those little nuances that make their customer care so fantastic. As ever the bags containing the jewellery are black, so what is inside remains a surprise till each is opened.

The first thing I opened was this adorable purple brooch! It will be getting added to my beloved denim jacket for sure, so cute. It is not on their website currently, so I think it is the subscriber only goodie.

Biscuit Necklace £14

Available in vanilla, chocolate and pink wafer, this is so cute. A mix of wood and acrylic the detail is stunning.

Lattice Pie Necklace £16

Available in blueberry and cherry, I got the blueberry option. Again, a mix of wood and acrylic that just works so so well.

Macaron Necklace £14

That I got this necklace in lilac makes me super happy, purple is my favourite! It also comes in pink, yellow and peach. This is, quite simply, adorable! Certainly a favourite from the new collection.

Teaspoon Necklace £10

Now this is the perfect necklace for any tea fiend! It's a really cute design, the heart detail in the top of the handle is a particularly nice touch.

And now for some other favourites from the collection!

Macaron Bracelet £22

The pastel colours are so perfect for Spring, perfect to wear with your macaron necklace.

Battenburg Necklace £15

Oh my, battenburg is a favourite goodie of mine, and this necklace is just perfect.

Bunting Necklace £16

For me, this is the standout piece from the collection and my favourite. The bunting has roses etched into it and the colour combination is gorgeous. I love it!

While I am sad this is the last subscription box, I have found while I've been subscribed I didn't buy individual pieces so often from Sugar & Vice, so I'm looking forward to picking out favourites of the new collections to come instead!

Much love,
Kitty xxxxx

Shine On

Wednesday, 27 August 2014

My name is Kitty, and I am addicted to Sugar & Vice. Like that wasn't totally obvious already from my blog. Thanks to Depop, an app that is sort of like Etsy, but for reselling, Sugar & Vice have been listing some fabulous pieces. Ex-photoshoot items, one off proto-types and experiments. I've gotten a few bits and pieces from there, and this is a recent one that I am in love with.

How could I not snap this up as soon as it was listed?! This necklace is a one-off prototype that never made it into production, but Sugar & Vice do have many amazing crystal and diamond designs in their Gemstone Collection.

This necklace is made of gorgeous silver mirror acrylic, it shines so beautifully. Every Sugar & Vice necklace features a little S & V tag so you know it is authentic.

Seriously, how amazing is that?! I can't wait for a chance to glam up and wear it. It's so beautiful. I don't own much that is a simpler colour from Sugar & Vice, so I was very happy to get this piece. I keep all my Sugar & Vice in the plastic bags that they come in. They also come in gorgeous boxes with padding and some sweeties for extra cute, but if I kept all of those I would have a bedroom full! My aim is always to minimise scratching and keep my jewellery looking it's absolute best.

I'm going to go bask in the shiny of this <3

Sugar & Vice

Tuesday, 15 July 2014

Anyone who reads this blog may have noticed a familiar name pop up over and over again, that of Sugar & Vice. To say I am a fan is an understatement, I adore everything they do! I own a lot of their jewellery and dream of more!

Swimming Mermaid Necklace £20

Double Stacked Name Necklace starting from £13

XL Gemstone Necklace £36

Solar System Necklace £28

This is just a small selection of what I currently own. Every birthday and at Christmas I beg for more! Accessories are such an important part of my outfits, they can change something from just OK to amazing, and I love that Sugar & Vice are a 2 person independent company. They are so creative and truly lovely people to boot! Here is some of my current wislist -

Melon or Orange Slice necklace £15

I am in love with watermelon print right now. It's so cute and summery!

The Supreme Necklace £17
I am a big fan of American Horror Story and I love the styling in Coven, I recently got some awesome long kimonos and totally need this to go with them!

There are soooo many gorgeous designs on their website and etsy. They also make earrings, bracelets, hair accessories, bags and apparel. So much awesomeness! They have made me totally custom designs that have been completely perfect and better than I could have even imagined, so much love for Sugar & Vice!

Much love

I love a surprise!

Sunday, 1 June 2014

I got some extra pennies recently and decided that I would treat myself to something from Sugar & Vice. They are one of my very favourite companies, but they have SO many awesome goodies I just couldn't decide what to order. Thankfully for me, they offer Lucky Dips! I went for the Lucky Dip 30, you spend £30, and get £50 of Sugar & Vice goodies. There are options for cute, creepy, or 'surprise me!', and you can choose whether or not you have pierced ears or not. I went for 'surprise me!' and I always mark that I don't have pierced ears, while I do actually have pierced ears, I have my first piercing stretched, and in the other 2 piercings in each lobe I only wear silver hoops, so as awesome as Sugar & Vice's earrings are, they just aren't for me.

I am SO thrilled with what I got! They come in a gorgeous matte black gift box, you can actually buy these gift boxes from the website in small, medium and large sizes, starting at £1.50. It's a lovely touch and they are such high quality.

This is a shot of all the awesomeness that I got in my lucky dip, with Sugar & Vice you always get sweeties in your order, Stu loves this part in particular because it usually means a Moaom and he loves them! I also got a cute heart lolipop :) it's a touch that always makes me smile when I get a parcel from them.

First up, this amaaaazing Multi Alien Necklace. It's part of Sugar & Vice's new 'The Girl From Another World' collection, so much awesome! This is a necklace I had been drooling over and was so pleased to happen to get! It is made of a stunning pearlescent acrylic, I wish I could get a photo of it that did it justice.

Next up the adorable Mended Heart Necklace, this is one I cooed over at Halloween, I got it in an ace Zombie green! It's also available in red, but I love that green is an option. So much fun!

Next, the incredibly detailed Mandala Necklace. Just wow. The level of detail in this wooden necklace is just stunning, it really shows the talent that Sugar & Vice have. This isn't one I would necessarily have picked for myself, but I think for the summer it will be my first choice with pretty maxi dresses! It's so unusual and pretty.

And finally, a cute Diamond Gem Clip. This is part of Sugar & Vice's collaboration with Janine Basil, a super talented hair accessories creator. Now the thing I love most about this is, it is so light weight. Because of my chronic pain condition, I have to be incredibly careful with what I wear in my hair, or what style I wear it in, any pressure of weight can exacerbate it and that's the last thing I want! This however, is so light I'm pretty sure I'll be able to wear it for a full day. I own another of Janine's hair accessories and the quality is awesome, she hand makes everything and I can't speak highly enough of her. This little pink diamond will add a cute flash of colour to my 'do!

I am so pleased with the selection I got, I love the sense of surprise with ordering a lucky dip, and getting things I wouldn't necessarily have picked for myself, plus the added bonus of getting more for my buck.

This is not a sponsored post, everything here I bought with my own pennies!

Much love,
