A Mini George at Asda Homeware Haul

I can never resist picking up new goodies for our home, and now we've had our amazing new kitchen fitted I've been on the hunt. We bought a new kettle and toaster at the time from George at Asda in a lovely chrome, as well as a new dinner service, but the thing I was having a hard time with was cutlery. Our old cutlery was a little unusual in that the forks only had three prongs, and that drove Stu absolutely wild. He hated them! So the new ones had to be regular forks. I am also really specific about cutlery in that I only like to use totally smooth metal. I hate handles with patterns in the metal, and I really hate plastic handles. It's a thing I've always had, so I was expecting to come away with very plain silver cutlery and nothing fancy. And then, someone shared a photo on Facebook and the moment I finished work I dashed to Asda.....

For these.

These are the iridescent mermaid cutlery of my dreams! I'd never seen anything like these before. I can't find the listing on the George website right now, but they've been coming in and out of stock very quickly, so keep an eye out! The best thing about these, is that they are dishwasher safe! I really thought they wouldn't be, despite their packaging stating that they were. I was so impressed! They are such a gorgeous mix colours and I'm obsessed. Are they not the coolest cutlery you've ever seen?!

I always really like Asda's bedding so had a quick peek and had to grab this photographic cacti duvet set, it was reduced to £10 for a king size! It's pretty obvious from my social media that I'm a lover of cacti and succulents, so this had to come home with me. I find their bedding washes really well and is nice and soft so I forever find myself buying it.

You can get some really quirky pieces from Asda homeware section, I never thought I'd see something like either of these!

Skinnydip London Bag Haul

In the last year or so I have become bag obsessed. I used to be a one bag kind of gal, it served me for work, day, night, it didn't matter, I lugged the same old bag about. But in recent times I've began to really lust after bags, Big ones, small ones, totally impractical and ridiculous ones, and for Christmas I was lucky enough to finally fulfil one of my bag dreams, and I was given not one, but TWO Skinnydip London bags for Christmas! Skinnydip make the coolest bags and I've been dreaming of owning one for a while, and now I own two I had to share them, yay! (I know, I know, two bags is not technically a haul, but I wanted to call it that anyway!)

First up is this faux leather shoulder bag. It has an 'everyday' sort of style, but is a mini size and it's so cute. I can't find this bag on ASOS or the Skinnydip website anymore (sorry!) but it's too sweet not to share.

My favourite thing about this bag is the hardware. Rather than a traditional metal tone, they are an awesome oil slick sort of metal. I love it so much! It really adds more dimension and some extra fun to the bag. All the hardware is this sort of metal, even down to the zip on the inside.

While it has a secure flap that clips in nicely, this bag also has a zip up inside which I always like in a bag. I just feel a bit more secure in knowing that nothing is going to fall out of my bag, or potentially be sneaked out of it either.

EDIT - this bag broke the first time I used it. So disappointing!

The other bag is still available, and is the 'Druzy Ray Cross Body Bag'. I am obsessed with holographic and iridescent materials and I cannot resist a bag in them most of all. It has a really long silver chain so it is a true cross body bag, despite being the size of a clutch. It is tiny, and is definitely a bag that is more suited for nights out because you can pretty much only fit a lipstick, your phone and maybe a teeny wallet in it. It has no stretch or movement to it, so it's not a bag designed for daily use.

With the nature of the design this bag is technically reversable. One side has the poppers, the other is plain with the Skinnydip logo at the bottom. This is always handy when you are out and have maybe had a drink or two and have just thrown your bag on your shoulder, it looks adorable either way!

The texture on this is so neat, it's a sort of 3D prism and it reflects light beautifully. It's not the most practical because of the size, but it's so shiny that it had to be mine. I'm like a magpie with iridescent goodies!

An ASOS Accessories Haul

Of all the places I shop online, ASOS is the one I check the most. Most days actually. It always has a huge array of plus size clothing, but it also sells accessories that are just to die for. It's my absolute go to website for something different to really put an outfit together. I saw someone post about grabbing one of these items in the sale and immediately went on the site and ordered it. So here is what I got!

Quay Australia Round Sunglasses

I've been a fan of Quay sunglasses for years, but usually just buy super cheap sunglasses and then moan that the UV protection is rubbish. This year I've decided to suck it up and buy some proper sunglasses, and when I saw ASOS had Quay shades in the sale it was meant to be. I love the stripes combined with the pink lenses! Usually I struggle with plastic frames due to my chronic head pain, but these are surprisingly light so I'm keeping them with great glee.

You might remember that I bought myself a cheap pair of sunglasses from Ebay that I blogged about here that were the silver version of these, but a fake. I had no idea they were based on a Quay design at the time but as soon as I saw these in the sale, I had to have the real thing. Cheap shades might be cheap, but their protection from the sun is rotten, so I'm being kinder to my eyes and getting the real deal. I'm late to the rose gold trend, I just couldn't decide if I liked it or not, but since colouring my hair pink I'm all over it. There is no comparison between these and the quality of my fakes, so get the real deal guys!

ASOS Metallica Shell Clutch Bag

This bag. This bag is the bag of my mermaid dreams. There are brands that do popular shell bags that so many people have zip problems with that I opted to hold out and hope for a better version instead. And here it is.

It is iridescent magic with rose gold hardware. Yep, more rose gold. I predict a lot more of it appearing in my life over the summer.

I love the style of the strap, it's the right style to be able to hold in your hand or hook over your wrist so you can still use your hand.

How lush is that fabric? It reflects blues and purples and pinks and greens and just wow. It's gorgeous.

It pops open down the centre but has a silky interior that means nothing can fall out which is a great touch. It's surprisingly roomy and I am now desperate for an excuse to go out and use it!

Panika

I recently discovered the incredible Panika on Etsy, and couldn't resist ordering myself a little something. They describe themselves as making jewellery for fairies and witches, and I can totally see that.

I ordered myself the green and yellow holographic jellyfish necklace. It was on sale at the time and usually retails for around £23 depending on the current exchange rate as they are based in Ukraine.

Seriously, how could I resist ordering this!

The detail is beautiful, the colours amazing. And the holographic tint is such a unique look, I haven't seen it before. The chain is also green which is really cute. It's such a good size, a real statement piece.

I wore it the day after I got it, how could I resist!

I wish I had been able to afford more from Panika. They have so much gorgeous stuff in their shop.

Isn't this adorable?! I love the shoulder cut outs, and the dip dye look. Warm enough to make all snuggly for winter, but also light enough to wear in the spring time too when it starts warming up. I really, really love this.

ASOS Hologram Envelope Clutch Bag £12

ASOS have this whole amazing range of holographic bags, purses and more. They are exactly the sort of colours you can wear with anything, and they will help dress an outfit up easily. The makeup bag is adorable and is so going on my Christmas list. There is a coin purse and a credit card holder, perfect to go inside this to keep your bag light.

ASOS Oversized Grid Grid Check Square Scarf £18

The office I work in has no in-built heating, it used to be a barn, so portable radiators and scarves are a must-have, and this looks so cosy and warm!

Katzeshop Holographic Crescent & Full Moon Necklace £35

OK, so maybe I am liking the holographic trend kind of a lot, and this stunning necklace is really just feeding that! Katzeshop are a new discovery and they have the most beautiful jewellery. With recurring themes of moons, cats and shininess, how could I resist?
