The New Crown & Glory Glitterati Box

Thursday, 19 October 2017

Until last year, I was subscribed to the Crown & Glory Glitterati. It was a hair accessory subscription service that sent different head bands, bobbles, clips and more each month, with a theme. I cancelled in the run up to the wedding to save money, but with the announcement that they were changing the box and adding jewellery, homeware and more, I had to try it again. It costs £23.95 a month in the UK (which includes shipping).

I've been subscribed for 3 months now but this is the first time I've blogged the box. Mostly, because I can't quite make up my mind about it. I miss having more hair accessories and the use of the word 'homeware' is a little misleading. So far the 'homeware' aspect of the box has included passport and notebook covers, it's definitely more stationary focused than I realised. This month I was excited thinking there would be a Halloween theme, but instead they opted for a 'Stars, Skulls and a Whole Lot of Glitter' theme.

One of three non-hair accessories this month, is the starry glittery pouch. I use pouches like this to store my lipstick in in my handbag so I was more than happy with this. It's really cute and it doesn't seem like the glitter will rub off.

Next up is some wax candle melts from the Ember Candle Company in the shape of little skulls, it's the only spooky item this month. You get four skulls, and these are orange and cinnamon scented which is just a perfect autumn smell. I have a skull designed for the melts so I can't wait to get these in it.

The last non-hair accessory, is these star shoe clips. They are cute but I'm not sure quite what to do with them! They are pale orange and pale yellow, which aren't colours I usually wear, but these might look OK on my rose gold Converses. We shall see!

One of the cuter items is this heart hair clip. It looks almost like it has planetary rings around it, and is quite tattoo like. I'll definitely wear this and it's a cute addition to the box.

And finally, my absolute favourite piece in the box, this crescent moon barrette. This is truly beautiful, and I think against my now blue hair will look lovely.

I'm not sure I'm going to keep subscribed to the box, but I will for at least another month as it continues to grow and change.

Much love,
Kitty xxxx

Funky Laser Halloween Spider Web Tiara Review

Tuesday, 20 October 2015

I recently discovered Funky Laser on twitter and got in touch with them, to discover they knew who I was and wanted to work with me too, brill! They decided they wanted to send me a little something from their Halloween collection, and with my love of Halloween I was so up for that!

They sent me the Halloween Spider Web Tiara* £8+. That this is only £8 is completely baffling to me! The price goes up slightly depending on the acrylic you pick, but in the black is is £8. The level of detail is amazing, and it is such an unusual idea.

It is so intricate. I love the curls and flicks on the cobwebs. It is affixed to a metal headband by 3 rings which are very secure. I have quite a large head so was a little worried about it fitting me, but it did no problem!

I plan on wearing this all year round. It's a really unique piece and definitely fits with my slightly goth aesthetic.

Funky Laser have a few different hair accessories for Halloween, including a pumpkin headband and a ghostly scene, but this spiderweb one is my favourite,

Be sure to check out the rest of their store, they have wedding cake toppers too which is really different.

Much love,
Kitty xxx

Crown & Glory Glitterati Box - October

Thursday, 8 October 2015

October brings with it my second Crown & Glory Glitterati box! I got my first one in September, and was hooked immediately. If you don't know what the Glitterati box is, it is a subscription service for hair accessories! I joined up after having Botox for my chronic pain and finally being able to wear things in my hair for the first time in years.

Each box comes with an insert telling you what you have been sent, and how much they would be without the subscription. The stars gave a hint of the theme....

This is the first ever personalised item in a Glitterati box! It is a lush black velvet with hints of glitter, mounted onto a silver headband.

And the stars are all the constellation of your birth sign, in my case, Aquarius. It is so so pretty! I can see this with a LBD being so glamorous and gorgeous. This is also a Glitterati exclusive so unavailable to buy.

It looks like a beret, isn't it so cute?!

It looks cute worn on either side of my head, I felt so glam!

No Snag Hair Ties

I have wanted to try some no snag hair ties for a little while, and the galaxy and space colours of these are beautiful! You wouldn't mind these on your wrist, just in case you need them.

Metallic Star Printed Wired Headscarf

I love a wired headband! The way they hold the shape and sit on your head is fab. This comes in either navy or black, I got it in navy, which isn't a colour I usually wear, but it really works with the star print.

Isn't it so pretty? The stars are all over.

Starlight Comb £10

I absolutely love this hair comb. The grey and black glitter is so delicious, I can see me wearing this a lot over winter!

I was SO excited for this box to come. November already seems way too far away! I love that it's a themed box, and not at all what you expect for October. So gorgeous.

What subscription boxes are you signed up to? Are you also part of the Glitterati?

Much love,
Kitty xxxxx

My First Crown & Glory Glitterati Box!

Tuesday, 15 September 2015

Before Botox, I dreamed of wearing flower crowns and hair accessories. So now that thanks to Botox my chronic head pain is under control, there was one thing I simply knew I had to do. And that was sign for up Crown & Glory's Glitterati. Glitterati is a subscription box that is posted out on the 1st of the month containing a themed mix of hair accessories! It is £23.95 in the UK, and you get over £50 worth of goodies in the box, which makes it a total bargain.

I was so excited to get my first box, I had to document it!

The September box wasmy first box, and it came beautifully wrapped in berry coloured tissue paper, with green shredded paper and the box was sealed with glittery silver tape, so cute! It came with a list of all the goodies it contained, so here are photos!

The first thing I saw instantly had me in love. You guys know I adore butterflies, and these are perfect autumnal colours! So gorgeous. I paired them with a messy high bun and felt like it was perfect for this time of year.

Now these are a little less me because I generally only wear silver, but they are so subtle, I think they'll be fun to nestle in my curls.

And the classic Whole Lotta' Rosie headband! One of my favourite trends for autumn is berry tones, so this was just the perfect addition. I love it! It is such a gorgeous, deep colour.

And finally, a more traditional flower crown, in my favourite colour! Isn't it so pretty? I love the little purple buds that are almost like blossom, I'm looking forward to styling this one.

I already can't wait for October's box. Such great value for money, and such beautiful pieces! My hair accessories collection is gonna grow rapidly now I can finally wear them!

Much love,
Kitty xxxx

Flower crowns and hair bows and glitter, oh my!

Thursday, 27 August 2015

I recently blogged about my having Botox for the first time, as a treatment for my chronic headaches and migraines, and one of the things I was most excited about, was the possibility that I could wear hair accessories again! And I can! When I was younger, wearing hair accessories was totally my thing. I was known for huge hair bows and cat ears, and I was kind of heart broken when as my pain got worse, I couldn't wear them anymore.

But now I can... so I had to snap up a couple of bargains I found!

I discovered Roses & Clemetines on Depop and couldn't resist! They have beautiful flower crowns and bun flowers in beautiful colours, and make custom designs too. I grabbed this pastel rainbow headband for only £5 in a cheeky sale on Depop!

Aren't the colours just beautiful? Now my hair is my dirty blonde natural colour they stand out so well against it.

And I also picked up this pink bun flower for only £5 too! The bright pinks are lovely and really pop with my hair.

I popped my hair into a high pony tail, and made very loose rolls with sections of hair and roughly gripped them in place. I didn't want anything too 'perfect', with naturally curly hair I love messy up do styles.

It was a quick 2 minute job, and then the bun flower is secured round the bun with ribbon, and I popped a couple of extra grips into that to make sure it wasn't shifting too.

I am now lusting over aaaaaall the hair accessories and wishing I had a Fairy Godmother to buy me them all! :D

Ever since I saw that Sugar & Vice had teamed up with Janine Basil I had been lusting over this. It's an adorable sort of nerdy and I love all the colours!

When you think of flower crowns, you have to think of Crown & Glory! I love the colours in this and the wildflower, it's exactly how I wish I could get my garden to look.

Creepy cute brilliance, and available in glow in the dark colours, I need it!

Hysteria Machine make incredible accessories, and these are one of the more suitable for regular wear... if you are like me at least! I love antlers and deers, and the pastel tones are so cute.

Where are your favourite places to shop for hair accessories? I'm so out of touch with them, I need links!

Much love,
Kitty xxxx

KatzeShop Mini Haul!

Thursday, 5 March 2015

I am a huuuuge fan of KatzeShop, designed by Rosa Pietsch. Many of her pieces are one offs, and in February Rosa ran a sale, and then gave us an extra 10% for a Valentine's treat, I couldn't resist!

As ever, my goodies arrived in a lovely box wrapped up beautifully.

The little note I got inside! Such a cute personal touch. So exciting to know that these were some of Rosa's first designs and I would now have them to treasure and show off.

What I got!

Large Cat-Eye Pendant Necklace - one off, similar available here

I knew this was going to be gorgeous, but wow! The silver resin in the eye adds an extra dimension to the cat eye, which, as a cat lady, I could not resist! The long chain dangling from the eye means the length of the necklace is perfect for the style of tops I've been buying lately. Can't wait to wear it! I think summer and spring are perfect for wooden jewellery, and this is a stunner.

Cresent Moon necklace with chains and engraving - no longer available, but similar here

You know I can't resist a moon right?! This is ideal for wearing over black, and the engraving on the the acrylic is subtle but so gorgeous!

Click the photo to enlarge it so you can properly see the detail, it was tricky to photograph.

Crescent Moon Hair Slide - no longer available, similar available here

I really struggle to wear anything in my hair, but the odd kirby grip I can cope with on a good day. With this being wood and acrylic, I think it should be light enough to wear occasionally.

I am forever eyeing up more from Rosa's shop, you should really check her out! She's a lovely lady too which is always a bonus.

Much love,
