My Favourite Outfits of 2015

Tuesday 5 January 2016

It's that time of the year when we all start to look back, become introspective and review the year. I thought I would do a series of posts on 2015, and this first post is all my favourite outfits of 2015!

This year the bardot neckline became a firm favourite of mine. I love having my shoulders out over any other part of my body. That kind of trashy Alabama Worley look is my favourite. I love pairing all black with this pale pink pleather jacket, and these sandals were my favourites till I wore them to death.

I developed a love of pencil skirts and oversize tops! I've always worn full skirts and tight tops, but this year I realised that this is a really comfy, but chic way to dress. It's easy to dress up or down which is ideal

This Voodoo Vixen dress* appeals to that inner pinup! I love red, and the neckline is so cute and different. It didn't need any accessories, and I finally started to ditch the leggings this year too.

This dress from Missguided has become a total autumn wardrobe staple. The length, the cut, the monochrome, so me! Ankle boots have become a favourite of mine. I used to worry about them making my calves look chunky. Then I decided I didn't care about such a silly thing.

A totally different look for me, a very pale pink dress from ASOS Curve. It has the bardot necklace I love, and combining a pleather jacket with a girly dress remained a favourite look. Pop on some Chucks and it's my sort of dressed up.

My first Lindy Bop dress! And it certainly won't be my last. A contrasting petticoat with a vintage dress is lush. There was a slight Star Trek theme to the vow renewal I wore this in, so a galaxy themed necklace from Sugar & Vice finished this off perfectly.

I have barely taken this Pink Clove duster jacket* off since I got it. I just love everything about it. Pink Clove have become a brand I look at regularly with so many great pieces this year. Faux fur scarfs have also totally become an obsession of mine. I have 2 and keep asking for more for Christmas. They instantly class up any outfit and are so cuddly. This outfit is the opposite of what I would usually do, all red with a flash of black.

Sadly this year a lot of independent plus size companies closed their doors, including Candy Strike. When they announced their last run of dresses I had to snap one up. It's a gorgeous dress, and I really hope they will be back in the future with more! Paired with amazing boots and a pleather jacket, I love this look.

And finally, this Yours Clothing dress I bought second hand. A rose print midi dress is a dream! Adding a waist belt to dresses has also become a new 'thing' for me this year. Most clothing doesn't fit my waist properly because I'm taller than the average woman they are designed for. I've taken to adding a belt under my bust, which is where the clothes tend to think my waist should be. It's really helped them fit better and look cuter, I just need more waist belts! I love this outfit so much I wore it on Christmas Day.

What were your favourite looks of 2015?

Much love,
Kitty xxxx
