Halloween Goodies!

Monday, 22 September 2014

September has brought with it so many wonderful things, the best of which are Halloween themed goodies! I ordered some adorable things from ASOS, and I also received my Sugar & Vice subscription box :D :D

First up, my order from ASOS. I searched for Halloween on their website and picked my goodies from there :D They had a 25% off student day and I couldn't resist.

(fun fact, till 2 years ago I was scared of socks because I hated having my toes constricted so much)

Adorable, spooky, cute clutch bag! Made of pleather, and just so much fun. I love wearing all black and jazzing an outfit up with accessories and this is perfect for that. I plan to use it all year round.

And next, my Sugar & Vice Subscription box, known as the All Things Nice Subscription Box £35. Every 3 months a direct debit will take £39 (to also cover the postage) and you get £60 worth of goodies from the new Sugar & Vice collection, plus an exclusive subscription only item! Well worth it in my opinion. Sugar & Vice phased out their Lucky Dip option and this is the perfect alternative for a surprise 4 times a year. This box features The Witching Hour collection.

How cute is all the packaging? I was so excited! Buried under all the packaging was sweets and the actual jewellery. Normally Sugar & Vice jewellery arrives in clear plastic bags, this arrived in black, which made it an even longer surprise!

5 packages, I photographed each piece as I opened them, so exciting!

Dead Fly Charm Necklace £16

I looooved this necklace on the site, so was super happy to receive it. Creepy cute! I also love that this collection features a different Sugar & Vice label, a little coffin instead.

Raven Skull ring. Not currently on the website, this adjustable ring is a great addition to the collection. I like that it is backed with black.

Bat Wing Necklace £15

I just love this. The glittery heart, and bats are the cutest thing ever. A mix of matte black is just perfect.

Planchette Necklace £13

Gorgeous black glitter on a black chain, I love this. While I don't believe in the occult, I am fascinated by the things and beliefs that surround it.

I was also lucky to shoot some of the new collection with Missy Phillips. She was a lot of fun to work with and a fab model.

Harness by Malice

I cannot wait for more Halloween goodies to be available. I want them all!

Much love,

The Witching Hour

Saturday, 20 September 2014

Sometimes I like to plan a whole outfit around a new accessory. Actually, I kind of do that alot. For this outfit, I had two new accessories I really wanted to wear so I plotted accordingly! I had a new necklace and a new belt, so an outfit they inspired!

Because I am a classy bird, thanks Mum for taking this photo in the yard at work.

Ashen decided to join in with me as well. I swear I am the most awkward looking person ever.

(please ignore the grass! We'd cut the grass the day before and I dragged some in from the garden)
Leggings - ASOS (no longer available)
Shoes - Dunlop

The belt and the necklace that inspired the outfit! As soon as I saw the belt I had to have it, non-leather goodness! The necklace is from Sugar & Vice's new collection The Witching Hour which I looooove.
Necklace - Sugar & Vice Raven Skull Necklace £14
Dress - ASOS (no longer available)

And a close up of the necklace. Also my new fringe which I cut in a wee bit short forgetting how much of a cow lick I have. Oh well, it'll grow!

I promise I am going to try and do more outfit posts. I've been so slack on them! I love this dress because it makes me feel like Alabama Worley.

Much love,
Kitty

A prize and a mini haul!

Wednesday, 17 September 2014

Recently Little Miss Delicious has been fundraising for the Brain Tumour Charity and part of that fundraising included a raffle, with so many goodies donated from a lot of amazing independant companies. I bought a few tickets and was so excited when I found out I had won one of the prize bundles! I never win competitions or raffles, so to be a part of something like this, and to win, was awesome.

As ever, with everything Maxine sends out, it arrived adorably packaged and with a cute handwritten note.

All the goodies!

I love cross-stitch! This was donated by Anbhz

Unicorn brooch from Janine Basil (who I am a big fan of, and who doesn't love unicorns!)
Ice cream brooch by Little Miss Delicious
Purse - unknown, so sorry!

Heart necklace is VelvetVolcano
Rose ring by MustDestroy Jewellery
Hair bow by Beauxoxo

Headband from Julie & The Knits - unfortunately I am allergic to wool, but I know someone who will love it.

How amazing is this prize? I am so proud of Maxine, and so pleased to see her be able to raise so much money for a cause that means so much to her. On the same day this package arrived, I also got a parcel from ASOS, yay!

I am fully aware that this clutch bag is totally ridiculous. But I love it and had to have it!

I kind of fell in love with this dress when I saw it on the ASOS website. I've been chasing a cute pinafore dress for soooo long and none have suited me, so I have my fingers crossed that this one would! It is black denim and so soft, it's lovely. It's in and out of stock so quickly, so if you see it in stock and want it, get it quick! However, on me, this looked and fitted so badly. The shoulder straps are non-adjustable and were way too long (and I'm 5ft11!), and it just clung in all the wrong places. Back it has gone and the hunt for a pinafore dress is still on.

Much love,

August Favourites

Monday, 15 September 2014

My favourites this month are new goodies, and new experiences! I'm trying to keep it as a bit of a mix so it's more interesting :)

First up, a new experience....

Offroading! I went offroading for the first time and had SO MUCH FUN. I'm not normally much of a daredevil, I get very anxious, but for some reason when it came to offroading, I got all overly enthusiastic and didn't even freak out when I drove into water that was maaaaybe a teensy bit too deep for the truck. I will definitely be going again! Thank you to my little bro for inviting me.

Some of you may know that I suffer with chronic pain. Basically, I have a headache, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and have done for 5 years. This means I can't wear my hair up, sunglasses can be hugely painful, and headbands are a no no. Not any more they aren't! Thanks to Janine Basil and her adorable wired headbands, I can wear one with no issues whatsoever, I have another on order and will be asking for some for Christmas. Yes I am totally already thinking about Christmas.

I broke my old phone case, which featured Lumpy Space Princess. That was totally unacceptable and therefore inspired my new case featuring my other favourite Adventure Time character, Lemongrab!

Thanks again to Depop, I got this Boo necklace from Sugar & Vice, perfect for Halloween. Which I like to think of as everyday. Ashen wanted in on this selfie and how could I resist that face?

I wrote a whole blog about my new watermelon hat from VelvetVolcano, but I just adoooore it and have worn it so much that I had to mention it again.

And the last one, I got a sneaky early peek at some of Sugar & Vice's new Witching Hour collection, which is amaze and I need it all. This is the pentagram necklace which is a total bargain at £11. You can also see the fringe I cut myself in recently.

September will likely be a quieter month, as I am already Christmas shopping. For real. I have a spreadsheet and everything.

Much love,

Little Miss Delicious Surprise!

Saturday, 6 September 2014

I LOVE when companies have a mystery or surprise pack option for their accessories. I love surprises and cute jewellery surprises are the best. I recently treated myself to a limited availability Little Miss Delicious mystery pack and was so thrilled with the goodies I got! Maxine does super limited edition versions of her normally available mystery packs sometimes, so I totally recommend liking her facebook page to spot them, they sell out super quick!

Super cute note from Maxine <3 and the adorable packaging

All the goodies I got!

Little Miss Delicious Characters Coaster in Blue £4

Everyone has their spot in their house right? This will be going right next to mine so only I can use it. Those little pizza faces are adorable.

Tasty Watermelon Necklace £18

You better believe I literally squealed with delight when I saw this in my mystery pack. Thank you Maxine! I adore him!

French Fries Felt Accessory £12

The cute thing about these accessories is not only their faces, but they can be worn either as a hair accessory, or a brooch. I love this french fries pin, I think that will be one for my hair.

Ice Lolly Felt Accessory £12

I love the sprinkles on the chocolate and their little rosy cheeks.

Maskitec Cosmetics Sherbet Fizz Lip Balm £3.75

Vegan and not tested on animals, my sort of a cosmetics company! This smells amazing and the packaging is so lovely.

Maxine is a total sweetheart who works her butt off to make the cutest jewellery she can, and I love being able to support a friend. I actually got to photograph Maxine once, Maja Stina did her makeup and she wore some of her own designs.

Isn't she such a babe? I hope we get to meet again some day.

Halloween Beauty

Thursday, 4 September 2014

I figured with my love of Halloween, a blog dedicated to some beauty products inspired by Halloween would be perfect!

So these are my most recent purchases. I've been wanting to try the Gelly nail paints from Barry M for a while, I got Satsuma and Mango. I also decided to try one of the Silk nail effects in Meadow. What could be more perfect for Halloween than a super glossy orange nail?

Barry M Gelly nail paint in Mango

The Gelly nail paints are supposed to be super hi-shine, and I think they are! The reflect light really well, and considering I broke a nail the day after painting them, it didn't even chip, so I am impressed.

A little while ago I posted in my first Beauty Haul blog that I bought one of the Barry M Nail art pens. I finally got around to giving it a go to really creep up my orange nails.

Unlike most nail art pens, this is actually built like a felt tip pen. It comes dry, and you push the nib of the pen inside the pen repeatedly to get the polish flowing, it then keeps itself ready to use. This is by far the easiest nail art pen I have ever used. Most require you to squeeze the polish out as you use it, but with this is does that for you, so you can just concentrate on actually decorating your nails, genius! I painted both hands in different patterns to show how easy it is to use, I'm mostly ambidextrous, but I much prefer writing with my left hand.

So this is my right hand, done with my dominant hand. I think that I was able to write with the pen shows how smooth is is to use. I went for polkadots, a little ghost, boo, and a french tip gone goth.

I love the cobweb I did on my thumb the most :D totally doing that all year round! (My rings are from BloodyMary Metal)

And my left hand, done with my less-used-to-write-hand. The top is supposed to be a lightening bolt which is a little wonky, then a spiral, a cobweb and a little octopus.

So smooth and easy to use. I am definitely going to look at getting this nail art pen in other colours, it currently comes in black, silver and pink, and silver is calling to me.

Eylure Nail Art Kit £2.50

The gold glitter skulls in this foil kit are just perfect for a glam Halloween look!

Lush Passionate Lipstick £14.50

Lush are all vegan and cruelty free which is amazing, I would so love to give this lip stain a go! This is a gorgeous pinky-purple colour and it makes me think of fairy tales.

I never dress up at Halloween, cause I like to live it all year round, but what are you dressing up as this year?

Much love

Watermelon Snuggles

Monday, 1 September 2014

I've blogged about my love of watermelon print, and I am still so not over it at all. Not long after I posted that blog, the awesome VelvetVolcano started making hats. And oh my glob I had to get one! All of VV's hats are vegan and cruelty free, Tamsyn is a fab fab lady.

The package, the hat came all wrapped up in tissue paper with a ribbon, a business card, and on the back of the watermelon paper is a cute little note too. Tamsyn used my real name instead of Kitty so I'm not sharing :P

And the hat I chose. Seriously, I could not resist! The watermelon hat is available in either classic red, or pink, which is adorable as well.

Front view

Side view

This hat is so soft and comfy. I love autumn, and I cannot wait for it to keep cool so I can wear this all the time! With my chronic pain condition, I need hats to be a good fit, anything tight or heavy adds to the pain, and this hat is so soft it isn't going to be a problem at all. Tamsyn is in the process of designing more hats and I can't wait to see what she does next, I'm going to need more!

Much love,
