Jewellery is a girl's best friend!

Tuesday, 11 August 2015

That's right. Not diamonds, but jewellery. I love jewellery. Necklaces and rings and shiny things. I love them all! And you know I love a statement necklace in particular, so I couldn't resist these shiny beautiful pieces when I saw them on sale recently.

First up, this gorgeous teal and purple necklace that I bought from Amanda Apparel via her Depop. It is such unusual colours that I couldn't resist! I also bought a dress from her I'll photograph soon. She sent them out super quick and packaged really well, and generally seems to be a sweetie!

New Look Silver Feather Spike Necklace

I love all silver everything, and the pearlescent look of the stones mean this will match any colour outfit so well! I like the spiked look of the feathers and the shape of this. It actually sits in 3 sections so it will lie better when worn.

New Look Silver Shell Drop Statement Necklace

Shells, silver, turquoise and a bloody huge necklace is just so me! For £6, there was no way this wasn't coming home with me. It's absolutely lush. All the different shapes and patterns are beautiful. Perfect for festival season, and also available in a gold colour too.

More jewellery means more means to store it are needed. And I got myself a bargain in the Urban Outfitters sale.

Urban Outfitters Bison Skull Jewellery Holder

I have to admit, I tried to hang this and immediately dropped it, smashing off one of the horns. However, it looks like it'll be super easy to glue, oops! I might get some colourful paint and spray this a different colour, white isn't really my thing, but I love a skull!

Where are your favourite places to get jewellery from? I'm all about silver! I'm actually selling some jewellery at the moment, my collection is getting a little out of control. Look me up on Depop under the name kittymiaw13. If you don't have Depop you can check out what I'm selling here and just drop me an email! kittyramblesalot@yahoo.co.uk :)

Much love,

A July Mini Haul

Sunday, 12 July 2015

This month I sold my little Renault Clio that was my first ever car after getting a new car a few months ago, so I treated myself and Stu to a couple of new things I thought I'd share! The rest went into my savings, which will inevitably be spent on more tattoos I'm sure.

For Stu - BloodyMary Metal 'Sleep Tight'
For me - BloodyMary Metal 'Crossbones'

Me and Stu both totally adore BMM and wear all our rings every day. They are so sturdy and beautiful that we just can't resist. In this photo Stu is also wearing the chunky tooth ring which is no longer available, and on one finger I'm stacking up the tiny moon ring which is also no longer available, a classic BMM stack engraved with dothraki and the lonely bone ring.

New Look Tie Waist Dress

I've never owned a shirt dress before, but after seeing the totally gorgeous Steph of Nerdabouttown.com looking so babely in this blog post in a shirt dress, I had to get one! Her dress is also from New Look, they seem to be rocking the shirt dress this summer! I sized up to get a more over sized look as I think in this sort of style it can really work. It's a bit more cleavage flashing than I usually wear, but I love it.

Sugar & Vice Skull Necklace £18 - now only available in a slightly different colour version

Technically this isn't new, I've had it for a little while, but I've rediscovered it and have been wearing it so much lately. I just love it, and and want the other version too!

Primark red and black fringed cover up £6 on sale

I fell totally in love with this as soon as I glimpsed it in my local Primark. I bought it in a large and was thrilled to be able to wear it comfortably. My local Primark usually own stocks up to a 14 so this was a nice surprise. I love fringing everything, and the red, black and white pattern is so cute.

I've got some exciting reviews coming up, so be sure to keep an eye out for them!

Much love,
Kitty xxxx

Roses, skulls and antlers

Thursday, 8 January 2015

The first outfit post of 2015! Is actually one from late in 2014 that I forgot to blog... oops!

Skirt - Ebay
Leggings - Sainsburys
Top - ASOS Curve
Boots - Demonia
Cardigan - Asda
Necklace - BloodyMary Metal
Eye makeup - Sugarpill

So during December BloodyMary Metal ran an advent calendar competition on their instagram, and every single day somebody won that day's advent calendar prize. I was super lucky and won this beautiful antler necklace!

It arrived the next day, so I immediately had to plan an outfit around it to wear! I snapped up the pencil skirt on Ebay as a total bargain, I think it was about £6 plus postage. It has a bit of a naff elasticated waist, but with the way I planned to style it, it wouldn't be visible anyway, and for that price I can't complain! It's washed really well, so I plan to grab a few more in different patterns and colours.

I wore this outfit to work, I try to always wear boots to work because I end up in the yard outside and it's muddy and icy and gross at this time of year. I love big slouchy cardigans and I've had this one for years now. It lives at my office so I can wrap up even when I forget a cardigan. I like that this outfit is super comfy but I think at least, also looks like I've made an effort. Ace!

Much love,

endlessleather

Friday, 14 November 2014

Recently the lovely folks at endlessleather contacted me to ask if I would like to make something using their products. They sell leather cords, beads, charms, clasps and all the goodies you would need to make some lovely jewellery. I agreed on the proviso that I would make something using a cord I sourced myself, as I do not wear leather.

I browsed through their website and totally fell in love with their murano bead selection. They have a beautiful range of colours, and I decided I wanted to make something somewhat mermaidy because of the greens and blues in their range.

The beads I picked are all from the gold/siver foiled murano range. Aren't the colours just lovely? The mix of blues and greens inspired the mermaidy sort of theme, and the pale pink and very light blue just worked together to be more 'me'.

For the fastening on the bracelet, I wanted to go for something a little different to make more of a feature of it. I picked the silver closure with end cups. Isn't it fab? I love the big ring so much.

The finished piece! I grabbed a cheap pleather cord from ebay in a light blue, and made sure I bought more than I needed, as I liked the idea of being able to wrap the bracelet around my wrist a few times, and I am really pleased I did!

And some close ups of the bracelet. I am really happy with it. The beads are just stunning and I love the unusual clasp. The only problem I have had with putting the bracelet together was gluing the cord into the closure. For some reason the glue just won't set, so I think I'm going to use contact adhesive to make it never goes anywhere!

Thank you so much to Endless Leather for sending me the beads and clasps. I really want to make more jewellery and you have inspired me.

Much love,
Kitty xxxxx

endlessleather sent me the above products free of charge. In no way has this affected my review of them or this blog post.

Shine On

Wednesday, 27 August 2014

My name is Kitty, and I am addicted to Sugar & Vice. Like that wasn't totally obvious already from my blog. Thanks to Depop, an app that is sort of like Etsy, but for reselling, Sugar & Vice have been listing some fabulous pieces. Ex-photoshoot items, one off proto-types and experiments. I've gotten a few bits and pieces from there, and this is a recent one that I am in love with.

How could I not snap this up as soon as it was listed?! This necklace is a one-off prototype that never made it into production, but Sugar & Vice do have many amazing crystal and diamond designs in their Gemstone Collection.

This necklace is made of gorgeous silver mirror acrylic, it shines so beautifully. Every Sugar & Vice necklace features a little S & V tag so you know it is authentic.

Seriously, how amazing is that?! I can't wait for a chance to glam up and wear it. It's so beautiful. I don't own much that is a simpler colour from Sugar & Vice, so I was very happy to get this piece. I keep all my Sugar & Vice in the plastic bags that they come in. They also come in gorgeous boxes with padding and some sweeties for extra cute, but if I kept all of those I would have a bedroom full! My aim is always to minimise scratching and keep my jewellery looking it's absolute best.

I'm going to go bask in the shiny of this <3
