Punky Pins Haul

Tuesday, 18 April 2017

Every now and then I seem to go on little lucky streaks and win competitions I enter online, and recently I've won two! One of those was run by Punky Pins, hosted on their instagram. While I didn't win the top prize, I did win a 50% off voucher that I was thrilled with. I'd been planning on placing an order, so it was clearly meant to be! They then hosted a 'seconds' sale, selling off slightly faulty designs cheap, and I couldn't resist grabbing a ton of their designs. So here's what I bought with my voucher!

These three were all the pins I got in the seconds sale, so all have slight faults. With the first pin you can see the lettering is missing some of the black colour, with the cats pin it is less obvious, and the cat has a mark on his pink belly, and in the guitar it is even less obvious, with a slight bit of colour missing at the bottom of the V of the guitar. None of the faults are really obvious, and when sold at half price you can't complain. With my 50% off voucher I really couldn't say no!

Mermaid Pin (no longer available)

And now, a trio of mermaids, how could I resist?! They are all so different from each other. My favourite is probably the chubby mermaid, I love that she is fat, as well as a woman of colour, it's fab seeing a brand with diversity in their range like this. Next fave is the spooky mermaid because she's cute and slightly terrifying at the same time. Lastly I had to get the classic mermaid because she's so sassy and I like her shell.

You know I had to get the cactus pins, I'm obsessed! I had a cactus pin on my denim jacket but it's pin is badly placed so it turns around and I couldn't stand it any more. Given that my life is ruled by cats I had to get the bad ass 'worship me' pin, and that ghost in a flower crown is just the best sort of spooky cute! I love that Punky Pins have so many pins with a feminist message, the lipstick and knife set is adorable and feisty and why wouldn't I want the word feminist emblazoned upon my jacket?

I could have bought SO many more but just had to stop myself somewhere. I want all their pins and can't wait to see what they come out with next.

Much love,

Pin Haul!

Tuesday, 21 March 2017

It's been a while since I shared any of my recent enamel pin purchases, mostly because I'm saving them for my denim waistcoat that will make more appearances in the summer, but I figured as I've not shared the last few on Instagram I'd post about them here instead!

These first two pins are both from Finest Imaginary. I absolutely adore cacti and succulents, so when I saw these pins I had to have them. The bottom one with the terrarium was bought on sale as a 'second' but I honestly can't figure out what is apparently wrong with it! Finest Imaginary have seriously adorable pins that I want to add to my collection!

All 3 of these pins are from Pin Club, which is a monthly subscription of a surprise pin! I love not knowing what I'm getting each month and they've all been stellar so far. The pins are usually part of a collaboration with indy artists which is something I really love. This Amour pin was designed by Joanna Behar, it was the February Valentine's Day pin.

This is March's pin and I bloody love it! Anything mermaidy is always good, and this was designed by the kick ass Shop Sassquatch. They are a US pin designer so this is a great way to get one of their pins without paying for shipping from the US and customs fees.

And finally, the Pin Club from January is this adorable sassy 90's throwback by Elleinadart. The blue hair, the freckles, this is so so cute. One of the really great things about Pin Club is that when a pin is on the larger side, or an awkward shape, they put an additional pin on the back so that it doesn't rotate or droop when you wear it. I have so many cute pins that end up upside down so that they do this is awesome.

Where are your favourite places to buy pins from? I'm always looking for new ones!

Much love,
Kitty xxxx

What I Got For My Birthday Part II

Sunday, 19 February 2017

Today is part II of my sharing what I got for my birthday last week. I split it up into two posts purely so it wasn't really photo heavy. Check out part I of the haul here.

From my little brother and his girlfriend I got this fab Skinnydip London bag. It's a clutch style, but does come with a shoulder strap too. It's two separate halves that zip together and attach with poppers. So if you are going out and don't need to take much with you, a simple unzip and you can take out half the bag instead. It's a lush blue snakeskin with a touch of shimmer to to it.

They've clearly been paying attention to my love of Skinnydip London as they also got me this planet bag that I have been lusting after for absolutely ages. It's glittery and beautiful and I love it.

Some girls get excited when they see a blue Tiffany's box, not I. I get excited when I see a BloodyMary Metal box! My parents got me this gorgeous BMM daggers necklace, it's so divine and very me. Silver is my favourite metal and they cast everything in silver, yay!

And finally, my amazing husband Stu got me a BMM necklace I thought I'd missed out on forever. The cat skull! The detail is beautiful and it's so pretty. It sits at a lovely length on me and I can just see myself wearing it constantly.

I'm so lucky to have such a wonderful family and loved ones.

Much love,

What I Got For My Birthday Part I

Thursday, 16 February 2017

I turned 29 on Sunday and had a really lovely day. It was basically a birthday weekend, with drinks with friends on Saturday, then lunch out with my family on Sunday and then a relaxing evening with my husband to finish the weekend off. Perfect! I'm incredibly lucky, and spent the weekend feeling so fuzzy and loved! I always love seeing what people got for their birthdays, so I can't resist sharing what I got either. I'm splitting this into 2 posts because I don't want it to be too photo heavy of a post, so part II will be my next post up.

My dear friend Max (and Mummy blogger at MaxandJackson on tumblr) got me this stag head construction kit. I'm a bit obsessed with stag heads so this is very me, I might have to try and paint it to match one of the rooms in our house too!

Disaronno was a bit of a theme in presents from my friends, with a large bottle from some, and then this lovely set with two Disaronni glasses and a bottle from others. I've never seen these glasses before but they are so cute! I'm not much of a drinker, but I do like me some amaretto on the rocks.

My Nanny and G (our nickname for my Grandad on my Mum's side) got me not one, but two awesome pairs of Converses. Black and white pattern hi-tops, and rose gold lo-tops. I can't wait for the weather to get warmer so I can wear them all the time. You can never go wrong with Converses. One of the things I really love about Converse these days is that the vast majority of their styles and patterns go right from a size 3, through to a size size 13, and they even carry up to a size 15 on their site now, just in more limited options. This means that I can get the funkier and more traditionally feminine styles, even with my size 10 feet! Go Converse for not letting gender define what patterns you have available in different sizes.

One of my presents from my Mum and Dad was this new wok. I love a good wok and basically use it to cook every day. We are in the process of getting a new kitchen and one of the upgrades we are getting is an induction hob. With an induction hob only pans that are magnetic will work on it, which meant my beloved wok would be useless to me. I was SO excited when I opened this. It has a handle on both sides! Way easy to lift up and manoeuvre when my carpal tunnel plays up. 29 is apparently the age when woks become amazingly excited.

My Mum and Dad also got me this incredible Freedom Makeup eye shadow palette. It has 32 shades in it, and it comes in a really fun leopard print packaging. When we go away anywhere I'll only need to take this one palette with me from now on! So awesome.

Part 2 will be up on Sunday!

Much love,

Skinnydip London Bag Haul

Thursday, 26 January 2017

In the last year or so I have become bag obsessed. I used to be a one bag kind of gal, it served me for work, day, night, it didn't matter, I lugged the same old bag about. But in recent times I've began to really lust after bags, Big ones, small ones, totally impractical and ridiculous ones, and for Christmas I was lucky enough to finally fulfil one of my bag dreams, and I was given not one, but TWO Skinnydip London bags for Christmas! Skinnydip make the coolest bags and I've been dreaming of owning one for a while, and now I own two I had to share them, yay! (I know, I know, two bags is not technically a haul, but I wanted to call it that anyway!)

First up is this faux leather shoulder bag. It has an 'everyday' sort of style, but is a mini size and it's so cute. I can't find this bag on ASOS or the Skinnydip website anymore (sorry!) but it's too sweet not to share.

My favourite thing about this bag is the hardware. Rather than a traditional metal tone, they are an awesome oil slick sort of metal. I love it so much! It really adds more dimension and some extra fun to the bag. All the hardware is this sort of metal, even down to the zip on the inside.

While it has a secure flap that clips in nicely, this bag also has a zip up inside which I always like in a bag. I just feel a bit more secure in knowing that nothing is going to fall out of my bag, or potentially be sneaked out of it either.

EDIT - this bag broke the first time I used it. So disappointing!

The other bag is still available, and is the 'Druzy Ray Cross Body Bag'. I am obsessed with holographic and iridescent materials and I cannot resist a bag in them most of all. It has a really long silver chain so it is a true cross body bag, despite being the size of a clutch. It is tiny, and is definitely a bag that is more suited for nights out because you can pretty much only fit a lipstick, your phone and maybe a teeny wallet in it. It has no stretch or movement to it, so it's not a bag designed for daily use.

With the nature of the design this bag is technically reversable. One side has the poppers, the other is plain with the Skinnydip logo at the bottom. This is always handy when you are out and have maybe had a drink or two and have just thrown your bag on your shoulder, it looks adorable either way!

The texture on this is so neat, it's a sort of 3D prism and it reflects light beautifully. It's not the most practical because of the size, but it's so shiny that it had to be mine. I'm like a magpie with iridescent goodies!

Have you got any Skinnydip bags? I think I might need more, they have some really glam rock looking bags right now. I'm all about the holographic snake skin.

Much love,
Kitty xxxx

Size 10 Shoe Haul!

Thursday, 5 January 2017

Some of my more regular readers may know that I have pretty big feet. They are a UK size 10 in fact! It makes shoe shopping rather interesting, especially as I don't wear any animal products. This Christmas was a rather unusual one for me, as I got shoes galore! As I have size 10 feet I thought I'd share all my new shoes and where they are from so other big footed types might get some inspiration too.

First up, my husband Stu totally surprised me and got me these amazing fringed faux suede ankle boots from Yours Clothing. I am obsessed with these! I shared them on my Facebook dropping serious Christmas hints and Stu ordered me them as soon as he saw them.

These are like the Dolly Parton boots of my dreams. The heel is cute but not too high, and I can't wait to wear them. I just wish they also did a longer calf length version too!

I've been wearing Converses constantly since I was about 12 years old, and I also dropped major hints about these as a potential Christmas present idea. I've got a few pairs of hi top Converses but no lo tops, so these produced instant lust.

These are part of the Andy Warhol Converse collection, and this particular style is available in up to a size 13 which is awesome. The lips featured on the shoes belong to Marilyn Monroe and I love that they are pink and red.

I'm not a Warhol fan, but these were too much fun to resist. A pair of quirky Converses can really finish off an outfit and I can't wait for dryer weathers to wear these constantly. Thanks Momma!

I've shared my love for the men's shoe section on ASOS before, and these were a great find. My Nanna kindly got me these River Island iridescent trainers and they are so cool. As with all the shoes I've featured, these are faux leather, and the iridescent patent area is like a beautiful oil slick in the sun. The photos really do not do these justice!

These are available in up to a size 12 and the 10 fits me great, because they are from the men's section they tend to be a wider fit which is great for babes with wider feet. Never be afraid to shop the men's section! Gender is a construct society made up, feet do not have a gender.

Now these I didn't actually ask for, but my Mum saw them and got me them and they are SO cute. Another Yours Clothing special, these go up to a size 10 too. These are the open toe platform shoes and I don't think I've ever owned such a 'normal' and 'fashion' pair of women's shoes. Discovering Yours do a size 10EEE has been a revelation!

These has a platform on the front so the heel is less intimidating. I find platforms so much more comfortable than heels without.

And the final pair (I told you it was a shoe heavy Christmas!) are another Yours Clothing find from my Nanna. I love a good gladiator sandal and the other ones I have from Yours are ridiculously comfy so I am hoping these are too.

My shoe collection has drastically expanded this Christmas and I really need to rearrange my shoe cupboard now!

Much love,
Kitty xxx

Christmas Decorations Haul II

Sunday, 4 December 2016

It's officially December, and from now on I am Christmas wild! I've already done a Christmas decorations haul, but can never resist cute new decorations, so here are a few I've picked up recently.

I already have this adorable little balloon animal dog in pink, and had to get him in green too. Too cute to not buy! These first few baubles are all from Adsa who have such a good Christmas range in, and all of them cost £2 each.

As a cat lady, this little cat had to come home with me! It's in the style of a traditional glass bauble, and so just precious.

My youngest step son fell totally in love with this walrus when he saw him in Asda, so I had to go back and get him for him! It's a baked style decoration, so almost has a slightly homemade feel to it that I love.

My amazing Nanna got my these from Paperchase via ASOS. These are so cool! Little felt cactuses, so very very me.

Aren't they just the sweetest? The invisible string on them isn't the best, I snapped one of them right away with my Hulk hands, but I jobbed a fix together for popping them on the Christmas tree. These were £8 for all 6 which I think is a great price.

My next Christmas decorations blog will be the actual tree, because it is up now!

Much love,
Kitty xxxx
