My Two Favourite Bloggers Right Now

Thursday, 25 May 2017

One of the things I think it's important to do as a blogger is share other bloggers you adore, so today I wanted to share my two current favourite bloggers and some looks from them that have been absolutely stellar!

First up, Stephanie of Nerd About Town. Steph rocks every style she wears and looks bad ass, but just lately she is killing it. Every look she has shared lately just inspires me SO much and really makes me think of styling things in ways I wouldn't usually have. She's magnificent and you absolutely need to check out her blog for constant style inspiration. Her photos have been truly magnificent too! Steph is someone who is out there fighting for true inclusivity in the blogging world and giving a voice to women of colour. She's one of my favourite people that I've met in a long time and she has the most beautiful heart. Here are my favourite looks she's shared recently!

And my other current favourite blogger is Amanda Apparel. Amanda is a blogger who has a true signature style that is reflected in every thing she does. Her thing is pastels and I just love it. While Amanda's outfits are always peak Amanda and I love them, her writing lately has just taken on a whole new level! She writes about life with a plus size body in an academic way and it's brilliant, definitely check out all her recent blog posts. I've also had the pleasure of hanging out with Amanda IRL and she is a treasure! And in terms of style, these are my favourite looks of Amanda's recently.

Curve Fashion Festival Part I

Tuesday, 29 September 2015

Last Saturday I went to the Curve Fashion Festival and had one of the most wonderful days ever! I was pretty nervous about going, because I was going on my own and meeting up with a whole bunch of other bloggers I'd not met before save for one or two. And there was absolutely no reason to be nervous! I met so many incredible people I admire, and so many beautiful people, and just had the most incredible time.

What an amazing group of women! So honoured to be a part of the #ThisIsPlus movement. Thank you Alfie for the photo!

So I happened upon StyleMeCurvy, Hayley Hasslehoff and Nicolette Mason taking some press photos and was cheeky enough to ask if I could sneak a selfie with them all. And they obliged!

I met Tess Holliday! She is a super model in this industry, and she made sure everyone who wanted a selfie and to meet her did, which was so lovely. The sequin cape she wore all day was amazing!

I met Nancy Whittington. Nancy is the reason I started blogging, she is such an inspiration to me. And such a total sweetheart, so glad I got to meet her!

As soon as I realised Toodaloo Katie was at CFF I had to go over and say hello. She shared my photo on the Eff Your Beauty Standards social media the other week and recognised me from the it which was awesome!

And Hayley Hasslehoff. Holy wow. As a photographer, I adore her work and she is utterly stunning in real life, and such a sweetie! I fan girled so bad haha. She tweeted me back as well which was so lovely.

I also found Felicity Hayward! As a big ASOS fan I love what she does, and she is ridiculously beautiful.

I ended up chatting with George from Fuller Figure Fuller Bust and she is such a lovely babe! Coming home with lipstick on your face from a babe nomming it is always a good thing.

Unlike last time I saw Lolly of Lollylikesfatshion, I remembered to get a seflie with her this time! She's so wonderful.

Betty Pamper is like, the most adorable human being ever, and it was such a pleasure to get to meet her. She was so kind about my blog, it meant a lot.

I also discovered the insanely gorgeous Amazing Grace X. She was so lush to talk to, and damn, that figure!

I had SO much fun with these babes <3 Photobooths had to be done! I've been talking to Amanda Apparel online and wanting to meet her for so long, and she is such a stellar babe <3 And meeting Lottie L'Amour and Sam of Fatty Boom Tatty was the icing on the cake!

I'm gonna make another blog post of all the 'proper' photos I took as I shot a lot of the runway looks and the talks too. Well, I took 800 odd photos on my SLR apparently... so I won't share them all haha!

The plus size community is bloody amazing, and I am sooo happy to be a part of it and have met so many beautiful people.

Much love,
Kitty xxxxx

Jewellery is a girl's best friend!

Tuesday, 11 August 2015

That's right. Not diamonds, but jewellery. I love jewellery. Necklaces and rings and shiny things. I love them all! And you know I love a statement necklace in particular, so I couldn't resist these shiny beautiful pieces when I saw them on sale recently.

First up, this gorgeous teal and purple necklace that I bought from Amanda Apparel via her Depop. It is such unusual colours that I couldn't resist! I also bought a dress from her I'll photograph soon. She sent them out super quick and packaged really well, and generally seems to be a sweetie!

New Look Silver Feather Spike Necklace

I love all silver everything, and the pearlescent look of the stones mean this will match any colour outfit so well! I like the spiked look of the feathers and the shape of this. It actually sits in 3 sections so it will lie better when worn.

New Look Silver Shell Drop Statement Necklace

Shells, silver, turquoise and a bloody huge necklace is just so me! For £6, there was no way this wasn't coming home with me. It's absolutely lush. All the different shapes and patterns are beautiful. Perfect for festival season, and also available in a gold colour too.

More jewellery means more means to store it are needed. And I got myself a bargain in the Urban Outfitters sale.

Urban Outfitters Bison Skull Jewellery Holder

I have to admit, I tried to hang this and immediately dropped it, smashing off one of the horns. However, it looks like it'll be super easy to glue, oops! I might get some colourful paint and spray this a different colour, white isn't really my thing, but I love a skull!

Where are your favourite places to get jewellery from? I'm all about silver! I'm actually selling some jewellery at the moment, my collection is getting a little out of control. Look me up on Depop under the name kittymiaw13. If you don't have Depop you can check out what I'm selling here and just drop me an email! kittyramblesalot@yahoo.co.uk :)

Much love,
