A Mini George at Asda Homeware Haul

Thursday, 13 April 2017

I can never resist picking up new goodies for our home, and now we've had our amazing new kitchen fitted I've been on the hunt. We bought a new kettle and toaster at the time from George at Asda in a lovely chrome, as well as a new dinner service, but the thing I was having a hard time with was cutlery. Our old cutlery was a little unusual in that the forks only had three prongs, and that drove Stu absolutely wild. He hated them! So the new ones had to be regular forks. I am also really specific about cutlery in that I only like to use totally smooth metal. I hate handles with patterns in the metal, and I really hate plastic handles. It's a thing I've always had, so I was expecting to come away with very plain silver cutlery and nothing fancy. And then, someone shared a photo on Facebook and the moment I finished work I dashed to Asda.....

For these.

These are the iridescent mermaid cutlery of my dreams! I'd never seen anything like these before. I can't find the listing on the George website right now, but they've been coming in and out of stock very quickly, so keep an eye out! The best thing about these, is that they are dishwasher safe! I really thought they wouldn't be, despite their packaging stating that they were. I was so impressed! They are such a gorgeous mix colours and I'm obsessed. Are they not the coolest cutlery you've ever seen?!

I always really like Asda's bedding so had a quick peek and had to grab this photographic cacti duvet set, it was reduced to £10 for a king size! It's pretty obvious from my social media that I'm a lover of cacti and succulents, so this had to come home with me. I find their bedding washes really well and is nice and soft so I forever find myself buying it.

You can get some really quirky pieces from Asda homeware section, I never thought I'd see something like either of these!

Much love,
Kitty xxxx

Spring OOTD

Top - ASOS Curve
Skirt - George at Asda
Pleather Jacket - Matalan
Necklace - Sugar & Vice
Sandals - Evans

Over Easter my Mum decided to risk our first BBQ of the year. So I dressed for summer, but put a cheeky Sugar & Vice storm cloud necklace on because I had the feeling it would rain! The skirt is a maxi skirt with raised sides, so cute and comfy, and a real bargain at £12. We didn't end up having a BBQ outside as our poor pooch Ashen had surgery and wasn't allowed outside, so we were inside with him.

Our poor baby! He had a lot of stitches after finding a lump in his shoulder, and was only allowed out supervised for necessary outsideness. I felt so mean keeping him in while it's so nice.

I featured my shoes in my March favourites, they are so comfy and lovely, I just know I am going to wear them constantly. I need a pedicure though! The ankle straps are adjustable, so if you have bigger ankles they should still fit, and they have small areas of elastic so they move easily with your feet which makes them much comfier and more likely to last well.

Much love,
Kitty xxxxx

Bardot Top - Asda, last summer
Pleather Skirt - H & M
Hi tops - Converse
Lilith Necklace - The Serpent's Club
Eye shadow - Sugarpill
Lipstick - Barry M

Today's outfit is inspired by one of my favourite plus size fashion bloggers, Nancy Whittington of Sugar, Darling? Hence the blog title! She posted an outfit post featuring this skirt and I just had to have it! She recommended sizing up, I did, and she was so right, you need to size up for it to fit just right. The pleather is such an awesome look, I felt like I should be in Cry Baby with this outfit. It begged to be paired with a bardot top, and I picked this one up in George last summer for about £2!

I love seeing other plus size ladies wearing clothes I like. One of my most hated things on websites is just seeing clothes on a mannequin rather than a real human! I think Nancy and I have quite a similar body shape, except that having seen a recent post of hers where she wears a maxi dress I also own, that is a midi dress on me, I'm a good 6 inches taller hehe! I had no idea H & M had a plus size range, so I'm glad she featured them.

A less grumpy looking face to finish off the blog. Wearing my hair with this crimped look has become a new favourite for me. I sleep with my hair in plaits and just undo them in the morning. Because of my chronic head pain I can't wear my hair up, so anything I can do that is different and involves my hair down is awesome by me!

Much love,

Various Goodies Haul!

Thursday, 9 April 2015

I've picked up a few random pieces lately and figured I had enough to post a haul blog with them in. There's no real theme to this, it has accessories, jewellery and homeware bits in it, but hey, I love a good haul!

Philip Normal Sunglasses.

I already have these in black and red, and couldn't resist snapping them up in tortoiseshell too! I got these on depop for a bargainous £6.50. Philip Normal sells a lot of their designs at cheaper prices on depop, so it is well worth checking out, especially if you love the 90's trend.

Sugar & Vice OOAK Pentagram Necklace.

Another depop bargain! Sugar & Vice are ess_vee_ell on depop and often post one of a kind, sample pieces, and ex-photoshoot items at cheaper prices. I love a good pentagram, and these lasercut wooden pentagrams will be lovely paired with summer dresses.

George Home Warermelon Kingsize Duvet £14

No. I will not now, or ever be, over my watermelon obsession. It's the sweetest print! For £14, this was a steal and I had to get it. Totally our summertime bedding, sorry Stu!

Sugar & Vice Storm Cloud Necklace £9

Sugar & Vice had a huge spring sale of pieces that are soon to be retired, and having had my eye on this adorable necklace for a while I had to snap it up before it was gone! It's the perfect ironic necklace for a proper British summer.

Olivia Rocco Stag Bedding from Groupon

And no, I will also not now, or ever, get over my love of stags and antlers! I got this on Groupon for like, £12 I think. It's so lovely, I can't wait to put it on our bed.

Evans Black Gladiator Sandals

Oh Evans, I don't know what I'd do without you.  As basically the only place that seems to sell size 10 shoes for women that are actually cute, I love you! These are non-leather, and the zip up the back makes them super easy to put on. I love them so much. Huge thanks to my Mum for getting me these, the sweetheart. Now I just need the weather to get better so I can wear them all the time!

What bits have you picked up lately?

Much love,

Cardigan - George at Asda
Top - ASOS
Capris - New Look
Shoes - Converse
Sunglasses - Philip Normal
Necklace - Sugar & Vice

Spring has been sneaking up on us and I managed to dress cute for work again and grab photos for an outfit of the day post! I am in love with these capri jeans from New Look. They also have them in blue denim, and I think I might have to get them in that too. Really soft, very comfy, and they show off my leg tattoos. George have had so much cute stuff lately! I love a good oversized cardigan and have worn this so much. It's no longer available but I highly recommend taking a look in store or on their website. A lot of plus size bargains are to be found. The top is also a favourite of mine, it's now available in red.... which I might also need. I felt really cute this day. Casual, but the monochrome with flashes of red makes every outfit feel more dressed up.

Much love,
