Little Miss Delicious Surprise!

I LOVE when companies have a mystery or surprise pack option for their accessories. I love surprises and cute jewellery surprises are the best. I recently treated myself to a limited availability Little Miss Delicious mystery pack and was so thrilled with the goodies I got! Maxine does super limited edition versions of her normally available mystery packs sometimes, so I totally recommend liking her facebook page to spot them, they sell out super quick!

Maxine is a total sweetheart who works her butt off to make the cutest jewellery she can, and I love being able to support a friend. I actually got to photograph Maxine once, Maja Stina did her makeup and she wore some of her own designs.

Isn't she such a babe? I hope we get to meet again some day.

Halloween Beauty

I figured with my love of Halloween, a blog dedicated to some beauty products inspired by Halloween would be perfect!

So these are my most recent purchases. I've been wanting to try the Gelly nail paints from Barry M for a while, I got Satsuma and Mango. I also decided to try one of the Silk nail effects in Meadow. What could be more perfect for Halloween than a super glossy orange nail?

The Gelly nail paints are supposed to be super hi-shine, and I think they are! The reflect light really well, and considering I broke a nail the day after painting them, it didn't even chip, so I am impressed.

A little while ago I posted in my first Beauty Haul blog that I bought one of the Barry M Nail art pens. I finally got around to giving it a go to really creep up my orange nails.

Unlike most nail art pens, this is actually built like a felt tip pen. It comes dry, and you push the nib of the pen inside the pen repeatedly to get the polish flowing, it then keeps itself ready to use. This is by far the easiest nail art pen I have ever used. Most require you to squeeze the polish out as you use it, but with this is does that for you, so you can just concentrate on actually decorating your nails, genius! I painted both hands in different patterns to show how easy it is to use, I'm mostly ambidextrous, but I much prefer writing with my left hand.

So this is my right hand, done with my dominant hand. I think that I was able to write with the pen shows how smooth is is to use. I went for polkadots, a little ghost, boo, and a french tip gone goth.

I love the cobweb I did on my thumb the most :D totally doing that all year round! (My rings are from BloodyMary Metal)

And my left hand, done with my less-used-to-write-hand. The top is supposed to be a lightening bolt which is a little wonky, then a spiral, a cobweb and a little octopus.

So smooth and easy to use. I am definitely going to look at getting this nail art pen in other colours, it currently comes in black, silver and pink, and silver is calling to me.

Lush are all vegan and cruelty free which is amazing, I would so love to give this lip stain a go! This is a gorgeous pinky-purple colour and it makes me think of fairy tales.

I never dress up at Halloween, cause I like to live it all year round, but what are you dressing up as this year?

Watermelon Snuggles

I've blogged about my love of watermelon print, and I am still so not over it at all. Not long after I posted that blog, the awesome VelvetVolcano started making hats. And oh my glob I had to get one! All of VV's hats are vegan and cruelty free, Tamsyn is a fab fab lady.

The package, the hat came all wrapped up in tissue paper with a ribbon, a business card, and on the back of the watermelon paper is a cute little note too. Tamsyn used my real name instead of Kitty so I'm not sharing :P

This hat is so soft and comfy. I love autumn, and I cannot wait for it to keep cool so I can wear this all the time! With my chronic pain condition, I need hats to be a good fit, anything tight or heavy adds to the pain, and this hat is so soft it isn't going to be a problem at all. Tamsyn is in the process of designing more hats and I can't wait to see what she does next, I'm going to need more!

An Easy Way to Customise Band Shirts!

I love getting band t shirts from gigs, but women's options tend to be on the tiny side. Instead, I like to buy men's t shirts and cut them up for something totally different.

As a rule, I buy a shirt at least 1 size bigger than I need as I like the slouchy fit. You also need to be careful with what print your shirt has, if it has a list of tour dates on the back be very careful with where you cut!

First off, pick your shirt. In this example, I'm cutting up a BlackCraftCult Lone Wolf Limited Edition Purple tshirt, this particular t shirt is sold out as it was limited edition, but they have it in their standard white colour for $24. I love BlackCraftCult's designs and wish I had more. I have paid customs on them every time they've been delivered to me, but they are so soft, and such good quality, that they are worth those few extra pennies, they are a great price to begin with.

I have used regular kitchen scissors previously when I've cut up t shirts, but it is so so much easier with fabric scissors, it's much easier to get a good smooth line. Mine cost £4 from Asda and have a very comfortable grip.

First, I always cut the neck out. I love off the shoulder styles and it is so easy to do with a men's t shirt. Going from the seam with the sleeves, I start cutting at about half way between that seam, and the neck of the t shirt. I work in a smooth line going to directly underneath the neck of the t shirt, then back out again to the half way point on the other side of the t shirt.

As you can see, I take very little fabric out from underneath the neck of the t shirt, and instead cut more from the back. This makes sure that the neck is even, and hangs nicely. Be very careful with how much material you take out here, because there are no seams, it will stretch slightly as you wear it!

Next I tackle the sleeves. An easy and fun way to customise them is to make sure the sleeve is flat and even, and starting from the bottom, cut from the outside of the sleeve to the inner seam in approximately thumbnail sizes sections. By the time you get to the top of the sleeve the very last part will likely be too big to leave as one section, and too small for the usual section. What I do is cut it in half, because the top part will remain as one once the sleeve is unfolded, it is bigger than it looks it will be.

See! Super easy, and a great option for festivals. I have so many t shirts like this now, and a few more I wish to cut up as well. I cut this one up specifically to photograph for this blog, so here I am wearing one of my other shirts that I have done the same as this.

Shine On

My name is Kitty, and I am addicted to Sugar & Vice. Like that wasn't totally obvious already from my blog. Thanks to Depop, an app that is sort of like Etsy, but for reselling, Sugar & Vice have been listing some fabulous pieces. Ex-photoshoot items, one off proto-types and experiments. I've gotten a few bits and pieces from there, and this is a recent one that I am in love with.

How could I not snap this up as soon as it was listed?! This necklace is a one-off prototype that never made it into production, but Sugar & Vice do have many amazing crystal and diamond designs in their Gemstone Collection.

This necklace is made of gorgeous silver mirror acrylic, it shines so beautifully. Every Sugar & Vice necklace features a little S & V tag so you know it is authentic.

Seriously, how amazing is that?! I can't wait for a chance to glam up and wear it. It's so beautiful. I don't own much that is a simpler colour from Sugar & Vice, so I was very happy to get this piece. I keep all my Sugar & Vice in the plastic bags that they come in. They also come in gorgeous boxes with padding and some sweeties for extra cute, but if I kept all of those I would have a bedroom full! My aim is always to minimise scratching and keep my jewellery looking it's absolute best.

I'm going to go bask in the shiny of this <3

Village Fest

Every year the village I grew up in holds a fake festival on the village playing field and it is so much. My parents go, my brother and his girlfriend, me, Stu and his 3 children (who I call my step-children) and lots of family friends. Plus, this year for the first year ever, Ashen came too! It had been absolutely miserable weather-wise the day before, so I was worried about the field being a swamp, so boots, but a sort of summery outfit were in order.

I've blogged before about how much I struggle to find shoes thanks to my UK size 10 feet. It's a nightmare! But thanks to the lovely Sugar Darling tweeting about Fashionworld.co.uk I have found a whole new place to get shoes from, yay!
