Christmas Decorations Haul

Tuesday, 20 November 2018

Yep, my first Christmas themed post. I can't resist! Every year I cannot help myself but buy a few new baubles for my Christmas tree, much to my husband's chagrin. The tackier and more ridiculous the better, I need them.

Asda is always my first stop because they always have unusual baubles and so far I've picked up 3 from them. (Sorry Stu, yes, I did say so far).

I mean flamingos are incredibly Christmassy right?

Who doesn't want a glittery dinosaur?!

Our tree has a whole bunch of different stag themed baubles, so this iridescent stag had to come home with me.

I also recently went to Cheltenham to visit my parents, and with that trip means the opportunity to shop at Tiger, which we don't have locally. I went a little overboard because I visited the shop twice and came away with a fair few...

Tiger had a few different parrot and tropical bird baubles but I narrowed it down to just this one.

Probably one of my favourites, this sting ray is just so damn cute!!

Obviously a Christmas hot dog.

This turtle made me think of Terry Pratchet lore, but instead of carrying the earth on his back, this turtle is carrying out Christmas presents.

I mean... pineapples are extra Christmassy when they are pink,

.... I have no reasonable explanation for why I needed a cheerleader alligator, other than to say that I just needed it.

And finally, I got this one because my Mum convinced me to, an adorable little dachshund angel.

Do you buy new Christmas decorations every year or is it just me that can't help it, like some sort of Christmas magpie?

Much love,
Kitty xxx

A Morris Family Christmas Tree

Sunday, 11 December 2016

We put our tree up last weekend, but I totally forgot to share it on my blog before now! We get our Christmas tree from a local farm, Town Gate Farm, and this year opted for a 6ft Norway Blue. We took the boys along with us to pick for the first time this year and they loved the colour of it so home it came with us. There's nothing quite like the smell of a Christmas tree farm, it really gets you feeling in the holiday spirit.

Our tree is a real mish mash of fun and unique baubles, so I just had to share some of my faves with you. Pretty much all of them are from Asda, but if they aren't I will pop a little comment  underneath the photo with where it is from.

Aren't they so cute? You can get such adorable baubles these days. Some of these are a few years old now, like the T Rex, the robot, the burger, the fries and the tiger (sorry! I know!), but the balloon dog, the whale, the cat and the rainbow are all new this year from Asda.

I finally found a good spot for this string of light bulbs too. I'm the trekkie in our house, Stu isn't a fan, the shame!

When did you put your decorations up? After the 1st December it's a free for all for me as far as Christmas is concerned. I can't resist.

Much love,

Christmas Decorations Haul II

Sunday, 4 December 2016

It's officially December, and from now on I am Christmas wild! I've already done a Christmas decorations haul, but can never resist cute new decorations, so here are a few I've picked up recently.

I already have this adorable little balloon animal dog in pink, and had to get him in green too. Too cute to not buy! These first few baubles are all from Adsa who have such a good Christmas range in, and all of them cost £2 each.

As a cat lady, this little cat had to come home with me! It's in the style of a traditional glass bauble, and so just precious.

My youngest step son fell totally in love with this walrus when he saw him in Asda, so I had to go back and get him for him! It's a baked style decoration, so almost has a slightly homemade feel to it that I love.

My amazing Nanna got my these from Paperchase via ASOS. These are so cool! Little felt cactuses, so very very me.

Aren't they just the sweetest? The invisible string on them isn't the best, I snapped one of them right away with my Hulk hands, but I jobbed a fix together for popping them on the Christmas tree. These were £8 for all 6 which I think is a great price.

My next Christmas decorations blog will be the actual tree, because it is up now!

Much love,

The First Christmas Decoration Haul

Thursday, 10 November 2016

Right. That's it, I'm saying it, Christmas. Prepare for this blog to be a Christmas-centric zone from now on (or at least, occasionally!). I recently popped into Asda with my step sons and couldn't resist a sneaky peek at their Christmas decorations and oops... I maybe ended up picking us up a few pieces.

Now I am pretty sure that I bought this bauble last year, but my youngest stepson absolutely loved it so we had to have it. It's a traditional glass bauble, in the coolest of rainbow styles! All the baubles we got were between £1 and £3, none were a major dent in the wallet department so into the trolley this one went.

This one was all me! How am I supposed to resist an adorable balloon dog bauble? This one came in a few different colours, and I'm tempted to get a couple more, but as purple is my favourite, purple it had to be.

More purple had to come home with us in the form of this glass balloon bauble. I ummed and aahed a bit with this one, I couldn't decide if it was obviously 'balloony' or not, but in the end we decided it was so got it.

This whale was too cute to resist, look how smug and smiley he is! He's a traditional 'baked'  style bauble, so something you could almost pretend was homemade if you were so inclined. A couple of these were broken on the shelf, with the fin missing, so just be careful as he is on the delicate side of things. He'll be swimming high up in our tree away from kitty paws!

This plastic bulb full of sequin and sparkles was instant love, I had to have it! You can never go wrong with a bit of sparkle, and this is a sturdy plastic, so I don't have to worry about it getting broken. This one came in a pack of 4 rather than as a single bauble, which the rest are.

And finally, the dream piece we just had to have, was the string of actual light up bulbs full of sparkles! These were £8 and I couldn't not get them.

They are full of quite a chunky glitter which reflects the light beautifully, and all the bulbs are a different colour, perfect for injecting a bit more rainbow into your Christmas.

The thing with fairy lights like this is they aren't just for Christmas, you could have these up all year round, and I just might! These use two AA batteries so you can have them anywhere you like which is awesome.

I'm sure this will be the first of many Christmas decoration hauls, I can never resist. I'm well into my Christmas shopping at this point, armed with my trusty spreadsheet, how organised are you?

Much love,
Kitty xxxx
