The Serpent's Club

Tuesday, 10 February 2015

One of the huge trends of 2014 that has carried over into 2015 is the use of crystals and gemstones in jewellery. One of my major problems with this trend is that looking around, it all seems to be the same. It all seems to be imported, generic and cheaply made. So I was so thrilled when I found The Serpent's Club! Full of amazing, statement pieces, I first ordered from them last year when I got my Auntie the Lau necklace. Oh how I wanted to keep it for myself, so so badly. She was lucky to get it at all!

So I could not resist when they announced a January sale and snapped myself up a Lilith, the big sister to Lau. A huge crystal statement necklace, yay!

I opened up the parcel, which was so carefully wrapped up in a whole load of tissue paper to really pad it out and protect it within the bubble wrap envelope.

The necklace comes in a dust bag which it is advised you keep it in, and I plan to!

And the necklace. I mean seriously, just wow. It is even more stunning than I had hoped! It is really heavy, the clasp is incredibly strong, and it is so clearly well made.

I had to share a close up of the crystal so you can see the detail within it, it's lovely! A clear crystal would just not have worked, the imperfections within this are what really makes it. Gorgeous!

And the necklace on so you get an idea of the length. I cannot wait to wear this out and style outfits around it. I've asked for some of The Serpent's Club pieces for my birthday so I have my fingers crossed!

Much love,

Two Birthday Outfits

Saturday, 31 January 2015

My Mum turned 50 during January, which meant 2 fancy parties, so I made sure to get some snaps of both outfits!

Outfit number 1, we went out for dinner at a fancy restaurant and my Mum wanted us to get glammed up. I was totally up for that.

Dress - New Look (no longer available)
Boots - Doc Martens with Schwings
Leggings - New Look

I love this dress. The silver detail makes you look like you have a tiny waist! If you look at the photo properly, what appears to be my waist isn't, because my hand is actually on my waist. The fringing also creates amazing movement and I can never resist twisting about to make the fringing swing everywhere.

Case and point!

Outfit two, a gathering at my Mum's house for drinks and a buffet on her actual birthday. Cue needing a different dress and look.

Dress - Lovedrobe at New Look (no longer available)
Velvet Leggings - New Look (no longer available)
Kimono - New Look (no longer available)
Necklace - Sugar & Vice (no longer available)
Purple patent creepers - TUK (no longer available)

This dress is one of my favourite go-to outfits. I always feel cute in it. It has faux leather sections framing the bust and waist that fit the skater style really well. I wanted a cover up because right now I'm having a bad eczema break out on my arms and it makes me pretty self conscious. A cute dress never feels quite me in winter without stompy boots or something similar, and I'd forgotten I owned these patent creepers till they appeared on my timehop app recently.

Look how cute they are! And non-leather too.

Eye make up - Sugarpill and Geek Chic Cosmetics
Lipstick - Barry M

And a close up of my face. Makeup is not my strong point, but that necklace deserves a better look! While it is no longer available, Sugar & Vice have a lot of beautiful crystal and gemstone inspired jewellery that is available.

I need to try and blog more outfits that actually have clothes in them that are still for sale... sorry about that!

Much love,
Kitty xxxx

Sugar & Vice

Tuesday, 15 July 2014

Anyone who reads this blog may have noticed a familiar name pop up over and over again, that of Sugar & Vice. To say I am a fan is an understatement, I adore everything they do! I own a lot of their jewellery and dream of more!

Swimming Mermaid Necklace £20

Double Stacked Name Necklace starting from £13

XL Gemstone Necklace £36

Solar System Necklace £28

This is just a small selection of what I currently own. Every birthday and at Christmas I beg for more! Accessories are such an important part of my outfits, they can change something from just OK to amazing, and I love that Sugar & Vice are a 2 person independent company. They are so creative and truly lovely people to boot! Here is some of my current wislist -

Melon or Orange Slice necklace £15

I am in love with watermelon print right now. It's so cute and summery!

The Supreme Necklace £17
I am a big fan of American Horror Story and I love the styling in Coven, I recently got some awesome long kimonos and totally need this to go with them!

There are soooo many gorgeous designs on their website and etsy. They also make earrings, bracelets, hair accessories, bags and apparel. So much awesomeness! They have made me totally custom designs that have been completely perfect and better than I could have even imagined, so much love for Sugar & Vice!

Much love
