Second Bloggerversary Giveaway!

Sunday, 1 May 2016

April means my little blog has turned 2! It's become such a big part of my life and has introduced me to so many wonderful people. Last year I hosted a blog giveaway, so I decided to make it a yearly tradition! This giveaway will run for 2 weeks from today and I'll announce the winner on 15th May. Here's what you can win!

A beautiful ceramic 'Love' sign kindly donated by The Crafty Retreat of Scartho, Grimsby. Because this is ceramic you can paint it in any colour you like, or leave it as is.

A tote bag designed and donated by illustrator and generally awesome body positive artist MurderOfGoths! This jellyfish design came from MoG asking for ideas on twitter, and as I love fat merbabe designs, I suggested fat jellyfish and shark babes. And being the genius MoG is, this was the end result. It's so damn cute!

A matte pigment gloss in 'Secret' from L.A. Girl. I love their range of matte liquid lipsticks so snagged an extra red for the giveaway. You can see my review of this here.

Adorable 'Lucky 13' earrings I bought from Punky Pins. These are acrylic mounted on butterfly studs and really cute!

A copy of feminist zine 'Women Can Be : Volume One' kindly donated by Melly Em Clark, plus the fab illustration pictured above. You can read all about the zine in my blog post here.

And finally, this incredible necklace kindly donated by Celia Rose Jewellery. This is a stunning stirling silver piece and I wish I could keep it for myself to be quite honest. Celia is the genius making our wedding rings and I am so thrilled to have her involved in the giveaway.

Entries are made via the Rafflecopter box below.

Due to the nature of the prizes this giveaway is UK only, sorry! It will be sent via FedEx which is a delivery that will need to be signed for.

Enjoy and good lucky!

Much love,
Kitty xxxxx

July Favourites

Friday, 31 July 2015

July was a super busy month once again! It seems I start off every monthly favourites saying that these days. I picked up a variety of different bits and pieces, so here are my faves!

The most exciting thing that happened this month will get his own blog post very soon ;)

Festwich 2015. I actually wrote a whole blog about Festwich which you can read here. Awesome music, great friends, a fab time!

My new blog header by the incredible Murderofgoths! I am so thrilled to see Kat taking the plus size world by storm. She's a wonderful and inspiring force to be reckoned with, and her art skills are just fabulous. I couldn't resist commissioning her to make me a new blog header after she surprised me with one of her famous quick-fire illustrations.

BloodyMary Metal Crossbones ring
BloodyMary Metal Sleep Tight ring

I treated me and Stu to some more BMM. Stu was gutted when I got the Sleep Tight ring because it looks like the Metallica Death Magnetic album cover, so it was an easy choice for him, and as I have the triple and lonely bone rings, I had to have the crossbones! We both wear all our BMM every day. It's sturdy and amazing.

Missguided Rust Swing Dress

For £5, there was no way I wasn't going to give this dress a go, and I love it! It's really cute and soft, and still on sale now. I also bought it in black. Perfect for cute but comfy office wear.

Panika Jellyfish Necklace

I love sea creatures and this necklace is just lush. The way the light shines off it is gorgeous.

New Look dress

For £6, this dress was an absolute bargain! I've found the fit of New Look Inspire stuff to be incredibly iffy lately, and this is the first dress I've bought from them in ages, and it's so lightweight and comfy. Perfect for summer.

New Look Silver Iridescent Statement Necklace

I get most of my basic tops from New Look, and as I stood to buy a couple in the queue I spotted this necklace and had to have it. It's really different from anything I own, and the opalite style stones mean it will match anything. It hangs beautifully, and has an extender chain so it can be worn longer too. My Mum keeps trying to steal this one off me!

Apopantos Watermelon Skirt

Available in a variety of patterns, from a size 6-32 and in various lengths, this skirt is awesome and I plan to buy more ASAP! Love it!

BloodyMary Metal Horse Shoe ring

This is an old design from BMM that I was heartbroken to not get while it was on sale. So when BMM brought it back for a limited run in their Last Chance Saloon I simply had to have it. When Clarence and Alabama get married in True Romance they have horse shoe rings, so there was no way I wasn't having one! It's not bulky enough for Stu's liking, or he would have had it for his engagement ring.

What are your July faves?

Much love,
Kitty xxxx

June Favourites

Wednesday, 1 July 2015

June was a busy busy month for me, lots of adventuring about, not so much buying, but what a month!

Firstly, my new blog layout! I had wanted to redesign my blog for the longest time, but it isn't something I know too much about, so I was super thrilled to buy this template and modify it. It's so very me, and so cute!

EDIT - While the quality of their clothes isn't in doubt, I cannot encourage anyone to buy from Scarlett & Jo or support their business for ethical reasons.

The Scarlett & Jo meet and greet with Georgina Grogan. This was the first event I've attended as a blogger, and it was so fun, and so lovely to meet other plus size bloggers. Plus get the chance to try on so many of Scarlett & Jo's gorgeous designs. I wrote a full blog post you can read here.

Barry M Hi Shine Lips

Embracing a more natural lip colour is a bizarre one for me. I've always struggled to find colours I felt suited me, preferring blue toned purples and reds and not much else. At the Scarlett & Jo event we were given goody bags containing a variety of Barry M makeup, and for me, that included 2 different lip colours. The left a more coral colour, and the right a pale brown (I loathe to call it nude, it's only nude if you are white, and I hate that assumption from makeup companies! Internalised racism at work) Barry M's lip products are really moisturising, which is such an important thing for me, as well as being cruelty free.

Stu picked me up this adorable cacti terrarium from B&Q. He's a sweetie!

Alice & You Tie Dye Smock Dress £30

I love tie dye, and this dress is just adorable. It's much shorter than I would usually dare to wear, but I am getting braver every day!

Murderofgoths illustration

Murderofgoths is just ridiculously talented, and it was such an honour for her to pick me as one of the plus size bloggers she created art of recently!

BloodyMary Metal Sleep Tight Ring £65

BMM held an amazing flash sale in early June and I couldn't resist this ring. I got the chunky version because I thought the girls version would be too dainty for me, and I was right, it's lush!

Scarlett & Jo Teal Blue Fit & Flare Mini Dress

This was the only thing I was able to buy at the Scarlett & Jo event, but I fell in love immediately. The colour, the cut, the lace, I could not resist.

VoodooVixen Romina Dress £54.99*

This dress. Oh this dress. Proper photos and a full review will be coming, it's bloody beautiful. The cut is beautiful, and those cut outs on the chest are so unusual and lovely. I instantly felt incredible when I put this on.

The Serpent's Club Fiji £25+

I couldn't resist a daintier piece from The Serpent's Club, and was thrilled to get this ring thrown in as well. I actually ordered this in May, but it was June when it arrived because all pieces are made to order. I love the mix of delicate with the spikes.

What did you get this month that you love?

Much love,
Kitty xxxxxx

*certain items were sent to me for review purposes. In no way does this affect my opinions which are entirely my own.
