Body Jewellery Shop Review

Thursday, 10 December 2015

I love getting piercings. I've had over 25, but currently have around the 11 mark. The one I've always struggled with, is cartilage piercings in my ears. I wear a hearing aid, and am a terrible sleeper, and they never seem to heal just right. Plus, my hearing aid rubs on them! As an alternative, ear cuffs have become a really fashionable and viable option. I have 8 ear piercings, and love them, but this is another way to have more without the commitment and hassle of healing them!

Bottom left - 3 Ring Ear Cuff*
Right - 5 Ring Ear Cuff*

The Body Jewellery Shop were kind enough to send me some to try out. They have a huge range of ear cuffs, as well as other body jewellery. I've bought from them several times as they stock everything from plugs for stretched ears, to tongue bars and more. I tried out some of the more simple designs, but they have some gorgeous pieces, like this Spider Web Ear Cuff that I love.

How much fun is that? And you don't have to have any piercings to wear it. Their ear piercing jewellery I tried is made of surgical steel, so is very easy and comfortable to wear.

Aren't they so cute? I feel very elf-like in ear cuffs. They can be worn high on the ear, or lower, and simply slide onto the ear. I wanted to give them a proper test drive, so wore the longest one for the full day at my job. I answer the phone regularly, and I had no trouble at all with it! These might be a 'clip on' style, but there is none of the pinch associated with the old school clip on earrings for lobes. I forgot I was wearing it to be honest!

I think they add a subtle, but really cute extra bit of detail to a look. I felt so adorable! I love the way The Body Jewellery Shop have designed their website, so you can search by the location on the body of the piercing, as well as material, so if you have any allergies you can easily rule out the problem material.

Don't they look sweet?

Much love,

Dee Dixon Photoshoot

Sunday, 27 September 2015

I've chatted to the lovely Dee Dixon online for years on and off, but we never quite managed to get around to actually shooting together till recently. Thankfully we finally got our butts in gear and spent a fantastic day working together! About time, and certainly not the only time.

Harness from Twilight Siren

I shoot from my parent's house, which is round the corner from my house, as quite simply, it's way bigger and much more shoot friendly. They've been decorating recently, and in one of the bedrooms they had the doors off the fitted wardrobes, which left this interesting space that Dee eyed up and wanted to pose in. I'm always happy to experiment and work in a different space!

How amazing does Dee look in blue? I love her curves in this lingerie. I find blue so hard to wear, so seeing Dee look so good in it makes me want to try it more.

I have seen this lingerie set in so many photoshoots. All on very slim, petite, small breasted women. So when Dee showed me that she owned it, I knew she would rock it! She wanted to show a different, curvier body type in it, and I was so happy to help. She looks incredible!

Dee fell totally in love with my pooch Ashen, and he got in on the posing action with some cheesy grins. What a pair of cuties!

I love bralets, and this lace one was lovely! Models with great lingerie are my faves. Dee hadn't shot much lingerie recently, so I was really honoured to shoot her exclusively in her pants all day. I try so hard to promote body positivity and to show different bodies in my work, and it means the world to me that people trust me to photograph them. I don't photoshop figures, or take out scars or cellulite or stretchmarks or birthmarks, because I believe these are all the things that make us individuals, so what I present in my work is reality. The beautiful reality of gorgeous people!

And finally, a new set up, a blue room and bed. With Dee's blue eyes, there was no way I wasn't going to shoot her in it. All natural sunlight was perfect for showing off her pale skin and eyes.

Dee was a total pleasure to shoot with, and hopefully we will work together again.

I am always looking to shoot more different and beautiful babes, so please don't be afraid to get in touch! I love shooting other plus size babes in particular.

Much love,
Kitty xxx

The Hair Chronicles

Sunday, 6 July 2014

I am considering going back to my natural hair colour. If you know me, that is totally a bizarre thing for me to say! Since I turned 16 my hair has literally been every colour, tending to stick with the unnatural ones. As time has gone on, unfortunately with my chronic head pain dying my hair is becoming more and more of an issue. It is hugely uncomfortable for me as it adds pressure and involves my scalp/head being touched. I had my hair cut last week and I spent the rest of the day in agony because of the sectioning clips.

So, my natural colour. I haven't seen it in a long time! My roots come through a dirty blonde, so I am swaying towards a dirty blonde, maybe with lighter ombre ends so it's a bit more interesting for me. Then, in theory, I should be able to grow my hair out with much less obvious roots than I get now. I'm currently mostly pinning new hair ideas to my pinterest so if you have it let me know!

I figured I'd do a blog of some of my favourite hair looks I've had in recent years!

Blue, with green and purple slices

Pink

Orange

Brown with grey ombre

Candy floss Pink

Different shades of pink on each side

Pink, with paler pink (also, how amazing is my Breakfast Club jumper?)

Pale pink (I look so weird with straightened hair)

Half pink, half purple, from that time I got to meet Patrick Stewart

Blue with green, purple, orange and yellow slices

Reeeally long roots with purple

Pale pink on top with a blue section underneath

Pink on one side, purple on the other, blue underneath

Purple one side on top, turquoise everywhere else (my most recent)

Long roots with green, photo by BlackLotus Photography

The only problem I have now really is that the turquoise stained my hair! So I'm hoping to be able to have a colour correction at school for one of the girls who needs it for an assessment (I go to hairdressing school) and then be able to take it from there!
