Spring Wreath Making with The Enchanted Garden

Recently I realised that my hobbies have basically all dried up. Because of my carpal tunnel photography is no longer an option, and I haven't been blogging often. All I do is play Pokemon Go and I needed something more. When I saw The Enchanted Garden advertise their spring wreath making class I immediately messaged my Mum, Nanny and auntie to see if they wanted to do it with me. When I was a kid I always thought being a florist seemed amazingly cool, so I was super eager to give this class a go. My Mum was sadly busy but with my Nanny and auntie by my side, off we went to our class.

We met The Enchanted Garden when looking for an independent florist for my Grandad's funeral, and since then we've used them several times, including also for my Grandma's funeral. They are always professional and lovely, and come up with beautiful work. This class cost £30 each, which included the whole base of the wreath (which is reusable), and all the flowers and foliage used.

We were shown how to create the base of the wreath using willow which is surprisingly bendy and durable, and then it was onto the foliage to begin the base of the flower section. We used a real mixture of different leaves including pistachio, ivy and eucalyptus.

We were provided with a real mix of flowers for the main section, roses, carnations, daisies and more. I saw some lovely little white flowers and lavender roses and knew exactly what I wanted to do.

One of the fun parts of the class was that we were offered a huge mix of flowers in different colours, so everyone's wreath looked really different to everyone elses. My aunties was very colourful with a rainbow of flowers, and my Nanny chose yellow as her focus. They all turned out beautifully!

We tied them off with a ribbon of our choice and instructions to water the wreath daily to keep it at it's best. Hopefully they should last a week which is awesome!

I really loved the course and will for sure be keeping my eye out for the next one.

Trying Wolf & Whistle

Wolf & Whistle are a brand that are new to me, so when they got in touch asking if I'd like to try some of their plus size range I was excited to give them a go. They are newer to the plus size market, and they go up to a size 26, which is more than a lot of brands have been doing for years. A bit of chatting with their team also told me that they are hoping to expand their size range, so fingers crossed! Their spring range is a floral pastel dream, very unlike my usual style, but absolutely beautiful. I opted to try out two of the tops!

First up, the peach frill top*, which retails for £30. It's a lovely pale peachy colour, and the material is nice and soft, is a little sheer. You need a flesh coloured bra under this one for sure, with smooth cups only, as the material shows up every detail in whatever is underneath it. The frill down the front is a cute touch, and the back features a gold zip running all the way down the top.

I got my usual size in this, and it did fit a little awkwardly. I could have done with a bit more space on the waist and the bust area. I'm not very busty so this isn't a problem I usually have. The arm holes are a good size which can often be a problem in newer brands who aren't allowing for plus size arms. With a little work, this could have been perfect, but it just wasn't quite there.

This is the pink + grey floral camisole* and it retails for £22. This is a great silky material, almost like the fanciest pajamas you've ever owned. It's very reminiscent of something from the nineties, the floral pattern and the hints of nineties tie in with two key trends for spring. It's a spaghetti style top with a cross over at the back, and the pattern and colours are so damn pretty.

I could have done with a little more room on the bottom of the top as it's supposed to be a loose fit, and maybe a little more length in the straps. I am 5ft 11, so I tend to expect a bit of an issue with strap lengths on tops like this so it's a fairly standard problem I have. I think this will be a gorgeous top for summer holidays, and if you are of the no-bra persuasion like I am, you can totally get away without one. The back of this is my favourite as the cross over is adorable!

Despite the fit issues, the quality of these tops is obvious. Wolf & Whistle are a newer brand to the plus size market, so over time these issues will hopefully work themselves out. I'd recommend sizing up if possible for now.

Lady V London Verena Dress Review*

Lady V London make some of the prettiest dresses out there for the plus size gal. Their size range is brilliant, stocking from an 8 to a size 32! Vintage inspired dresses with bright prints and lovely shapes, I am always eyeing up their new ranges. One of the things I love about Lady V is that their clothing is made in London, which means you can feel assured that it is made ethically.

Step in, the Verena*. The Verena is one of their new SS16 styles. It has a square neck, a ribbon around the waist to nip you in, and a cute pleated skirt. It isn't a full skirt like a lot of their designs, and it offers a sweet alternative look. It comes in several different prints, I'm wearing 'beautiful pink rose on black'.

The fit of this dress is a little different for me compared to other Lady V I've tried. I'm much smaller chested than most plus size babes, and I suspect I could probably size down in this because of how roomy the bust area is. I just don't have anything to fill it out with! I love the square neck shape and having no sleeves means this is perfect to take you from Spring to Summer.

The print is so damn pretty. I love the floral on black. You could pair this with biker boots and a pleather jacket to really rock it up, or pop a pair of cute heels on to be total glamour. I'm 5ft 11 and the dress fell just below my knees, which I think is a really good length. It would be more of a midi dress on most people.

I've been hunting high and low for new sunglasses for the wedding, and I think these are the ones! I love sunglasses and usually wear what most people consider to be somewhat daft sunglasses, so a more 'serious' pair was in order. I love the subtle cat eye of these.

And my amazing oil slick trainers from ASOS. These are no longer available, but I adore them so had to share their holographic goodness. These are actually from the men's section, which is always worth a look in for cute trainers, sneakers and slip on Van's-type shoes. I wear a size 10 shoe so I'm always look in the men's section as so few women's websites do my size.

I felt so spring-like and cute in this look, come on sunshine, you can do it!

Prologue to Spring : A LovedRobe OOTD

If you are anything like me, Spring cannot come soon enough! I am fed up of drowning in layers and cannot wait to wear pretty dresses and cute skirts and denim jackets again. I find winter so uninspiring in terms of my wardrobe, but Spring brings with it a whole new range of possibilities.

I really cannot wait to be able to not freeze in bare legs again! I styled this outfit for these photos but then popped some black leggings underneath for more warmth because I was so cold. The cheeky flash of thigh is always fun, with the buttons down the front of the dress it is just long enough for me to not consider it indecent in the breeze.

With the off vintage white, red and black patterns, I decided to pair it with these red chelsea boots to bring out the colour of the dress. A denim jacket makes this look perfect for Spring. Super casual, and super comfy!

There are several different variations of print in this dress, and I think I'm going to need them all! There is an adorable blue, green and pink zig zag print, an abstract monochrome, and an elephant print which is ridiculously sweet. They are sleeveless and the material is nice and light, so I think these are going to be a real Spring wardrobe staple for me.

Over Easter my Mum decided to risk our first BBQ of the year. So I dressed for summer, but put a cheeky Sugar & Vice storm cloud necklace on because I had the feeling it would rain! The skirt is a maxi skirt with raised sides, so cute and comfy, and a real bargain at £12. We didn't end up having a BBQ outside as our poor pooch Ashen had surgery and wasn't allowed outside, so we were inside with him.

Our poor baby! He had a lot of stitches after finding a lump in his shoulder, and was only allowed out supervised for necessary outsideness. I felt so mean keeping him in while it's so nice.

I featured my shoes in my March favourites, they are so comfy and lovely, I just know I am going to wear them constantly. I need a pedicure though! The ankle straps are adjustable, so if you have bigger ankles they should still fit, and they have small areas of elastic so they move easily with your feet which makes them much comfier and more likely to last well.

Plus Size Clothing Haul - New Look and ASOS

I very rarely do hauls, mostly because I tend to buy in smaller amounts and not so often, but this month I treated myself after I sold some collectibles and decided I'd post a haul! First up, New Look!

New Look Inspire Blue Denim Shorts £19.99

It's not often I try on jeans or bottoms and find they fit like a dream, but these, oh my, it's like they were made for me! The material is so soft, I can't wait for summer to wear these. They have these in a similar style in a really pale wash, with rips.. I want!

New Look Inspire Red Hanky Hem Vest Top £7.99

I love a hanky hem top! I have this in black already, and couldn't resist this lovely red colour, it's more berry coloured in real life. This style is available in several different colours.

New Look Inspire Black Capri £14.99

I could not believe that I'd have such luck to have 2 great fitting pairs of jeans in one order, but I did! These are also available in dark blue.

New Look Inspire Black Stripe Print Tube Skirt £9.99

This is a little shorter than I would usually wear, but I'm trying to be braver and love myself more! I'm 5ft 11, so this would be a fair bit longer on most people. Soft, stretchy, comfy, adorable!

Now onto ASOS...

ASOS Curve Tartan Skirt £11

For £11, I couldn't not order this. For summer, this is going to be adorable. I'm a big fan of country rock and roll chic, and this is perfect for that!

ASOS Curve Legging Shorts £14

Legging shorts... what? I was baffled by these at first, and then realised how brilliant they are. As a larger gal, summer means many things, one of which, is chub rub, should I decide to go bare legged. I'm also real clumsy, and I worry a lot about flashing my knickers under floaty dresses and skirts. These stop all that!

ASOS Oversize Fishnet Ankle Socks £3

These were a risk for me. With such big feet, women's socks don't often fit me, but I hoped because of the oversize fishnet pattern they might fit, and they do, yay! I think they will look adorable with creepers and sneakers in the summer.

All in all, a super successful haul!
