Another Colourpop Haul

Wednesday, 1 November 2017

At this point it's fairly obvious that I'm a huge fan of Colourpop products. I recently gave one of my super shock shadows to my Nanna because she has been struggling to find an eye shadow that doesn't migrate throughout the day. I have hooded lids and find the super shock shadows to be the best I've tried, and was confident she'd feel the same. She claimed the eye shadow for her own and I've never seen it again since! She showed it to her friends, and next thing I knew I was being asked to place a giant Colourpop order for my Nanna and her three besties. Of course I couldn't resist ordering myself a few pieces too, and this is what I picked up.

This is 'Sugar' and 'Banana Daiquiri'. I fell in love with Banana Daiquiri as soon as they uploaded it to the website and it's exactly what I'd hoped. It's a gorgeous mix of green and blue with yellow undertones. Sugar is a much paler blue with silvery undertones.

This is 'Prickly Pear' and 'Party of Five'. Prickly Pair is a lovely purple toned shade, ideal for autumn. Party of Five was part of a limited edition range Colourpop released to celebrate hitting 5 million followers on Instagram. It's a delicious red tone with flecks on green glitter. It's lush!

This is 'Mamacita' and 'Take Five', both ultra matte lips. Mamacita is part of the ILUVSARAHII collection, and Take Five was another limited edition celebration lipstick. Mamacita is exactly the colour I reach for in autumn, so it had to be mine. It is the deepest of reds, and it will look incredible on every skin tone. Take Five is a rose toned mauve that is better for more day to day wear.

Unusually for me, I opted for three non matte liquid lipsticks finally. All ultra glossy lips in fact! Left to right they are 'Wolfie' which is an ultra metallic, 'Nine to Five', another limited edition product, and 'Wishes' from their limited edition birthday collection. Colourpop's metallic lip products are always stunning, and Wolfie is no exception. It's a rosy red colour that I think I'll wear a lot in the coming holiday season. Nine to Five is a pretty bronze tone with mauve hints. Wishes is an absolute delight. I hope they bring it back because it's so different! It's a magic mix of colours, pinks, purples and blues, the photo really doesn't do it justice at all. It's sheerer than their other glossy lip products, but it almost reminds me of the Lime Crime diamond crusher lip toppers. I don't buy Lime Crime for a whole bunch of reasons, but I loved the idea of their lip toppers. I plan to use Wishes in the same way!

I've no doubt I'll probably order more Colourpop in the coming months. I can't resist!

Much love,
Kitty xxxx

Colourpop Short and Sweet

Sunday, 30 July 2017

I can never resist a Colourpop lip value set, and the 'Short and Sweet' set isn't one I would usually go for, but I ended up picking it up during a free worldwide shipping sale. When shipping is free, how could I resist?! It's full of summery colours and bright shades that are just perfect for a sunny day.

The pack contains a mixture of different types of lip products, two ultra satins, two ultra mattes, and an ultra glossy. It's a mini size kit, so each product is 0.64g rather than the usual 3.2g. It's a lot less product, but I quite like getting mini size products because they fit in even the tiniest of handbags, and if you are experimenting with colour, it doesn't feel like such a waste of product if you don't like a colour. I usually give my Mum any shades that don't work for me! They come in a little cardboard box with their names printed on the back. It would be a really cute present for someone, even though the box is just a cardboard box.

Left to right -

Love Muffin (ultra satin)
Sugar Lips (ultra glossy)
Schnookums (ultra satin)
Pooky Bear (ultra matte)
Honey Pie (ultra matte)

Love Muffin is a really cute pastel pink, it's a very wearable day to day colour for me. Sugar Lips is a bit of an 'iffy' one. I don't like lip gloss as a rule, and I struggled to get good coverage with it like the swatches on the Colourpop website show. However, I think it would be a really cute topper to add some glitter to a look. Schnookums is probably my favourite of all the shades, I love a rosy tone and I can see myself reaching for this one regularly. Pooky Bear is maybe a little bit too orange toned for me, I'll brave most lip colours, but me and orange do not get on. I knew it would be my least favourite colour when I ordered it, and I was right. Honey Pie is a really stunning red, just leaning into pink, with blue undertones. Exactly the sort of undertones I love in a red!

All the swatches are one swipe, excluding Sugar Lips, which was almost impossible to get a good swatch with. They dry down nice and quickly and don't budge unless you eat oily food. I always wear Colourpop's ultra satins and ultra mattes on nights out because I know I won't need to reapply.

Much love,

Colourpop It's Vintage

Thursday, 19 January 2017

My lovely Auntie got me this Colourpop ultra matte lip set for Christmas so I just had to share it on my blog! This set is called 'It's Vintage' and it features 5 mini ultra matte liquid lipsticks. These mini lipsticks are 0.64g of products, whereas the full size ones are 3.2g, and this set retails for $18.

They come in a cute little cardboard pack, which makes them an ideal gift. The mini size is also perfect for popping in even the tiniest of handbags, I have some ridiculously small clutches for nights out and these will fit quite happily!

The packaging is just a mini version of the full size, but the classic holographic font seems to be a plain silver on these instead. They feel just as sturdy as the full size, just more handbag sized! It's a great way to try out new shades you aren't sure about without buying a full size product that might go to waste.

The applicator is the standard doe foot applicator, which I always like as it allows for precise application. And now for the swatches...

L-R
Tulle
Bianca
Notion
Love Bug
LAX

Tulle is a lovely terracotta burgundy, Bianca is a mauvey pale pink, Notion is a deep red with a slightly pink tone, Love Bug is an orange toned brown, and LAX is a red toned brown. I really like all these shades and think they are a good mix of spring and winter colours, and can see myself getting a lot of wear from this set.

Colourpop's liquid lips take a couple of minutes to dry down, and then will not budge until oil touches it, whether from food or an oil based remover. I love knowing I don't have to reapply when I'm out for the day! Definitely a cruelty free makeup fave for me.

Much love,

Colourpop Haul III

Thursday, 8 December 2016

OK, so at this point I have to admit that I have a bit of a problem. Well, my name is Kitty and I am addicted to Colourpop. I've been doing my Christmas shopping and I couldn't resist a sneaky treat for me too, because I a have approximately no will power when it comes to lip products.

I ordered a few different types of lip products, two lippie stix, one holiday special ultra satin lips, one ultra matte lip, four ultra metallic lips, and one Hello Kitty ultra metallic lip. They had an offer on that meant the ultra metallic lips were free over Black Friday depending on how much you spent!

In the ultra metallics, from top to bottom, I got Man Eater, Zebra, Kween, Mug Shot and Surprise.

They look quite similar in the packaging, but once swatched all the nuances of the colours are much more obvious. Man Eater is a light bronze with gold tones, Zebra is a very cold toned brown with purple hints, Kween is a gold toned pinky colour, Mug Shot is a red toned bronze, and Surprise is a gorgeous red with gold tones. They don't dry down completely so aren't transfer proof, but they are so perfect for the holidays. Surprise in particular is the perfect Christmas colour!

Next up are the limited edition ultra satin in Wink, and the ultra matte in Are & Be. I am in love with the matte black holiday packaging, it's so different for Colourpop, but very to my taste. These look incredibly similar here, but I've swatched them side by side in the swatch coming up so you can see how different they are.

In the Lippie Stix I had to go with purple tones, my ultimate faves in lip colours. I got Back Up which is a matte X formula, and Leather in the matte formula. Having tried these the matte X is a new favourite of mine, the formula is so delicious and comfortable.

L- R Back Up, Leather, Wink & Are & Be.

You can see the differences between the two liquid lips here, Wink is much more pink toned, whereas Are & Be is more of an aubergine colour. Leather is a very classic bright purple, and Back Up is a lovely purple toned shade.

Here's all the colours swatched alongside each other. I am so in love with all the Colourpop lip products. I feel like I need them all!

Much love,
Kitty xxxx
