This year I got bra measured for the first time in a very long time, and it transpired that I was wearing completely the wrong cup size. Like, I was out by 3 cup sizes. Oops. Since then I've been browsing all the plus size lingerie options out there and have been pleasantly surprised by how pretty our choices are!
One of my newest additions is the Elomi Portia Monarch plunge bra* from Navabi. They sell both the bra and matching knickers which are currently on sale, so go go! I have a special place in my heart for butterflies, so when I saw this bra I knew it had to be mine. It's a light brown base with orange, pink, mint green and purple detailing. It has a cute little pink, orange and mint green bow in between the cups and on the straps, I love all the colour! At first glance it looks brown and orange, but when you really look there is so much more to it.
It's a plunge bra style, so it sits quite low between your breasts and it gives a really round shape. While the material is mesh, your nipples don't show through it at all which I also like. I have the matching knickers, but they are much more sheer, so no photos of me in those! I got my usual size, a 42E, and it fits really nicely. I hate feeling uncomfortable in a bra and some bands can seem so tight when you first get them, but this has just enough stretch that it wasn't a problem on my first wear and you can tell it's going to stretch slightly, but appropriately.
The cups fit really nicely, I have one boob bigger than the other as most of us with boobs do, and because of the stretch to the mesh material you couldn't tell. I usually end up with one cup looking a little empty but with a swoop and scoop this looked great on both breasts.
One of the things I really like about this bra is that the pattern extends onto the straps. I tend to find with bras that the cute pattern on the cups just finishes on the cups and the straps are plain, but they don't on this bra which is a lush touch.
Elomi bras have become a favourite of mine and Navabi stock so many of their designs, as well as a huge range of other lingerie designers too. Who are your favourite lingerie designers?
